  • Publication number: 20250150452
Abstract: Provided is a method for authorizing a configuring of a first device by a second device and a system for establishing a communication connection between a first device and a server over a network. A first message is sent over a network to a server, the first message comprising first information regarding an identity of the first device. The server sends a second message over the network to the first device. The first device derives a first code from the second message. The first device displays the first code. A second device detects the first code via an optical sensor and authenticates the second device to the server The server authenticates an identity of the second device. The second device sends a representation of the first code to the server. The server authorizes a configuring of the first device by the second device based on the representation.

  • Patent number: 12271324
Abstract: An input/output module having a housing to connect the I/O module to a first module, an interface configured to exchange data with the first module, and a memory. The I/O module is set up to receive and/or store data, from which data information can be derived with regard to a configuration of the first module and to make this information available to a second module upon request.

  • Patent number: 11593088
Abstract: A procedure for changing, in particular for updating, a firmware of a head station of a modular node, having a transfer of a compatibility verification routine stored on the head station from the head station on which a first firmware is stored in a nonvolatile manner to a computer connected to the head station, a verification using the verification routine executed on the computer as to whether a second firmware is compatible with the head station, and a replacement of the first firmware on the head station by the second firmware if the verification has the result that the second firmware is compatible with the head station, and also a suitably equipped head station.

  • Patent number: 11301236
Abstract: A procedure for changing, in particular for updating a control program of an input/output module (I/O module), wherein the I/O module is attached side-by-side to a head station of a modular fieldbus node, said procedure comprising transferring data describing the change from the head station via a local bus to the I/O module, wherein the local bus connects the head station to the I/O module, checking the compatibility of the I/O module with the change by the I/O module, and transferring feedback, based on the checked compatibility of the I/O module, from the I/O module via the local bus to the head station; a correspondingly configured I/O module is also presented.
