  • Patent number: 9706364
Abstract: A determination of whether a mobile computing device is indoors or outdoors can incorporate any of a variety of factors to make an efficient and accurate determination of indoor-outdoor status. Such a status can be useful for use in conjunction with positioning services. Features such as bounding boxes, activity determination, and the like can be used to strike a balance between power consumption and accuracy. A positive user experience with fewer false detections can result.

  • Publication number: 20120127512
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for printing by a client computer reduce network usage and print delay, while performing print configuration and management at a centralized print server. The print server controls enablement of a branch office printing mode. When the branch office printing mode is enabled, the client computer sends spooled print data directly to a selected printer in the branch office. When the branch office printing mode is disabled, the client computer sends the spooled print data to the centralized print server, and the print server routes the print data to the selected printer. The print server performs configuration and management functions for the client computer in both operating modes. The print server may enable and disable the branch office printing mode on a per queue basis.

  • Publication number: 20110136768
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of treatment and/or prevention of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF) in a subject in need thereof. The methods comprise administering an effective amount of imatinib mesylate to the subject, to thereby treat or prevent the nephrogenic systemic fibrosis. A corticosteroid and/or an antihistamine may also be administered. In one embodiment, the subject has chronic kidney disease, and/or is undergoing hemodialysis, and/or is in renal failure, and/or has been exposed to gadolinium such as gadolinium-containing contrast. The subject may also undergo an additional therapy to treat or prevent nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, chronic kidney disease, or renal failure, such as extracorporeal photopheresis, or administration of pentoxyphyline. Administration may be systemic, such as oral. Useful doses are from about 200 mg-600 mg, a day.
