  • Publication number: 20050276953
Abstract: The disclosure is a gift wrap material affixable to a target surface. The gift wrap material comprises a linerless opaque first substrate. The first substrate has a first major surface and a second major surface. A selective adhesion mechanism is disposed on the first major surface. The selective adhesion mechanism includes a pressure sensitive adhesive and is configured so as to provide a first adhesion force to the target surface before activation of the mechanism and a second adhesion force to the substrate after activation of the mechanism. The first adhesion force is at a level so as to allow the sheet to be positionable on the target surface. The invention also is a method for wrapping a gift. A linerless opaque first substrate is provided. The substrate has a first major surface, a second major surface and a selective adhesion mechanism disposed on the first major surface. The first major surface is positioned against the gift with substantially no adhesion of the first substrate to the gift.

  • Publication number: 20050271849
Abstract: An assembly includes a plurality of repositionable devices. Each repositionable device includes a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface. A coating of adhesive material is applied on at least a portion of the second major surface of each repositionable device. The repositionable devices are releasably adhered to each other by adhesion of the coating of adhesive material on one repositionable device to portions of the first major surface of an underlying repositionable device. The repositionable devices are arranged in a shingled stack relation.

  • Publication number: 20050271848
Abstract: An adhesive clip assembly adapted to be mounted on a support surface for supporting a display article includes a clip sheet having a front face and a back face and a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on at least a portion of the back face of the clip sheet. The clip sheet has a cut therethrough which defines a flexible tongue, and the tongue has a front side and a back side. That portion of the back face of the clip sheet which has adhesive disposed thereon includes the back side of the tongue. The front face of the clip sheet is free of adhesive. When the display article is disposed against the front face of the clip sheet and aligned at least partially under the tongue, the display article is retained in place relative to the clip sheet by adherence to the adhesive on the back side of the tongue and a spring force exerted by the flexible tongue toward the front face of the clip sheet.

  • Publication number: 20050142341
Abstract: A method for imparting graphics to a substrate comprises imparting an image to an image carrier sheet comprising an image receptive layer disposed on a carrier sheet. A substrate having a microstructured pressure sensitive adhesive layer disposed on at least a portion of a surface thereof is provided. The image carrier sheet is brought into contact with the adhesive layer of the substrate. Pressure is applied to the image carrier sheet such that one of the carrier sheet and the image receptive layer is adhered to the adhesive layer of the substrate. This method can be utilized for substrates that cannot be easily imaged directly by using, e.g., a conventional ink jet or laser printer.
