  • Patent number: 12629157
Abstract: Surgical systems and methods are provided that utilize augmented reality navigation and visualization techniques for transferring aspects of a preoperative surgical plan to an actual surgical site. The surgical systems and methods may be utilized to achieve accurate alignment of a surgical positioning object, such as a guide pin for guiding surgical reaming procedures, between the preoperative surgical plan and the intraoperative anatomy associated with the actual surgical site. Augmented reality may be utilized to achieve visualization of both an entry point and a drilling trajectory of the surgical positioning object in a manner that avoids occluding the intraoperative anatomy during the procedure.

  • Publication number: 20260053441
Abstract: An apparatus for orthopedic surgery includes at least one surgical accessory connected to an anatomical structure. The surgical accessory includes a first sensor and a second sensor connected to spatially separated portions of the anatomical structure. A controller is in communication with the first sensor and the second sensor. The controller is configured to detect a first sensor and a second position of the second sensor in a common coordinate system. The controller identifies a spatial relationship between the first position and the second position and detects a change in the spatial relationship. In response to the change in the relationship, the controller outputs an indication reporting a movement of a portion of the surgical accessory relative to the at least one anatomical structure.

  • Publication number: 20250312103
Abstract: A method for tracking patient features in a surgical field includes capturing an image stream in a field of view demonstrating patient features of a patient anatomy. A first feature set is identified in a tracking region of the field of view of the image stream. The relative motion among a first plurality of the image features in the first feature set is monitored in the image stream over time. Moving features from the first features set are filtered to generate a second feature set. The second feature set defines tracking features. The location and orientation of the patient anatomy is then tracked based on the feature locations of the plurality of tracking features.

  • Publication number: 20250312119
Abstract: A method for tracking one or more features of an object in a surgical field includes applying a liquid compound for a cement to an object in the surgical field thereby affixing a cementitious fiducial marker to the object. Image data is captured at a first wavelength range in a visible spectrum and second image data at a second wavelength range in an infrared or near infrared spectrum. Features in the image data are identified in the first image data. Additionally, the fiducial markers are identified in the second image data. A relationship among the features of the at least one object and the fiducial markers are calculated. Based on the relationship, the positions of the features are identified based on the positions of the fiducial markers.

  • Publication number: 20240225755
Abstract: A method for controlling a surgical device includes accessing identification information from an identification device of at least one interchangeable accessory. The method further includes configuring an operating configuration of at least one surgical device in response to the identification information. The control instruction is communicated for an actuator of the at least one surgical device via a first port of a plurality of ports of a connection interface. The first port of the connection interface is distinguished from the plurality of ports of the connection interface by displaying an identification symbol identifying the interchangeable accessory on a display screen.
