  • Patent number: 7631088
Abstract: A system for supplying streaming media or other media sources to clients, where said system minimizes the lag time perceived by the user during negotiation between media sources by outputting the media content remaining in the buffer while the system is negotiating connection and buffering information from a second media source.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20060064343
Abstract: A request to cancel feedback pertaining to a transaction in a network-based transaction facility is generated when a user submitting the feedback has not participated in a dispute resolution process or other process of the facility. In another embodiment, a request to cancel such feedback is generated when a user submitting the feedback has been suspended from the facility within a certain time period of that user's initial use of the facility, or indefinitely suspended within a certain time period of leaving the feedback. In yet another embodiment, a user is required to view a tutorial before leaving his first negative or neutral feedback. In another embodiment, a user is presented with an interstitial page reminding him of the effects of leaving negative or neutral feedback.

  • Publication number: 20020120747
Abstract: A system and method for buffering streaming audio data or other media sources to client devices, where said system maintains a constant buffering time by adjusting the low water mark of the play buffer based on the bit rate of the stream to a level such that the time for the play buffer to fill to the low water mark is constant for all streams.
