Abstract: An atmometer for estimating a crop consumptive water evapotranspiration employs a green canvas colored material which is wrapped around a porcelain evaporating surface. The material simulates the albedo and diffusion resistance properties of the crop in order to provide an accurate estimation of evapotranspiration. A check valve at the bottom of the reservoir bottle helps prevent precipitation from adversely affecting the evapotranspiration estimate. Additionally, a sight glass is provided for indicating an amount of evaporated water.
