  • Publication number: 20240141649
Abstract: A method is disclosed for producing photocatalytic coated ceramic granules. The method involves providing a coatable composition containing an inorganic binder and a variety of photocatalytic particles, such as TiO2, ZnO, Ti(OH)4, doped derivatives, or combinations thereof. These photocatalytic particles have a surface area per weight of no more than 15 m2/g. The coatable composition is then applied to uncoated base ceramic granules, resulting in intermediate coated granules. Finally, the intermediate coated granules are heated at a temperature of at least 700° C., leading to the formation of photocatalytic coated ceramic granules. These granules exhibit a Total Solar Reflectance (TSR) value of at least 0.7. This method offers an efficient and effective way to produce ceramic granules with enhanced photocatalytic properties.

  • Publication number: 20240112429
Abstract: A method of providing an interactive personal mobility system, performed by one or more processors, comprises determining an initial pose by visual-inertial odometry performed on images and inertial measurement unit (IMU) data generated by a wearable augmented reality device. Sensor data transmitted from a personal mobility system is received, and sensor fusion is performed on the data received from the personal mobility system to provide an updated pose. Augmented reality effects are displayed on the wearable augmented reality device based on the updated pose.

  • Patent number: 7719828
Abstract: A rugged hard disk drive storage assembly is disclosed. The rugged hard disk drive storage assembly includes an enclosure capable of containing multiple hard disk drives. The enclosure also contains multiple shock and vibration absorbers that are configured to elastically support all the hard disk drives contained within the enclosure. The multiple shock absorbers protect the delicate electronic hard disk drives and their sensitive information from shock and vibration damage, even when the enclosure has been removed from the drive container, and is being carried away by personal in a harsh combat environment. In addition, the enclosure is hermetically sealed such that the hard disk drives are isolated from external environment.

  • Patent number: 5741713
Abstract: Combinatorial libraries of labeled biochemical compounds and methods for producing such combinatorial libraries comprising the steps of producing labeled individual units, combining at least two of the labeled individual units so as to produce a labeled biochemical compound, and repeating this process at least once so as to produce a combinatorial library of labeled biochemical compounds. Also, methods for determining the conformation of a biochemical compound which comprise producing a combinatorial library of labeled biochemical compounds, contacting the combinatorial library of labeled biochemical compounds with a target receptor molecule so that a selected labeled biochemical compound binds to the target receptor molecule, and determining the conformation of the selected labeled biochemical compound when bound to the receptor molecule.

  • Patent number: 5627044
Abstract: A nutrient medium comprising amino acids and other substrates used by mammalian or insect cells in protein synthesis that are either double-labeled with .sup.2 H and .sup.13 C or triple-labeled with .sup.2 H, .sup.13 C and .sup.15 N is disclosed. The invention is also directed to a method for producing the nutrient medium.

  • Patent number: 5393669
Abstract: A method for determining three-dimensional structural information of a protein involves producing the protein in a form substantially labeled with .sup.13 C or .sup.15 N or both and subjecting the protein to nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic analysis. The isotopically labeled protein is produced by a method which involves producing a substantially labeled microbial protein hydrolysate, subjecting the protein hydrolyzate to cation exchange chromatography to produce a partially purified labeled amino acid mixture, subjecting the partially purified labeled amino acid mixture to anion exchange chromatography to produce a purified labeled amino acid mixture and supplementing the purified labeled amino acid mixture with isotopically labeled cysteine.
