    Abstract: The present invention provides a method, apparatus and a computer program product for uplink transmission power control in discontinuous data transfer. The present invention includes calculating, on a processor at a user equipment, a transmission power based on currently used bandwidth, and checking, on the processor at the user equipment, whether a transmission power limit has been reached based on the calculated transmission power.
