  • Patent number: 11114748
Abstract: An electronic device may have peripheral conductive housing structures divided into first and second segments. First and second antennas may be formed from the segments and may be fed using a flexible printed circuit structure. The structure may include a first substrate attached to the first segment, a second substrate soldered to the first substrate and attached to the second segment, and a third substrate soldered to the second substrate. Third and fourth antennas may be formed on the first substrate whereas fifth and sixth antennas are be formed on the second substrate. The second substrate may be folded and may have a lateral area oriented perpendicular to the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth antennas. Modularly forming the structure in this way may maximize the flexibility with which the structure can accommodate other components, thereby minimizing the space consumption associated with mounting and feeding the antennas without sacrificing wireless performance.

  • Publication number: 20190196805
Abstract: This application relates to controlling a rollout for an update to an application installed on client devices. A digital distribution platform can include at least one server connected to a network and configured to enable client devices to access resources, stored on network devices, so that applications or updates to applications can be installed on the client devices. A server can implement a service that receives a request to identify whether the update is available via a digital distribution platform and determine whether a client device is authorized to install the update. The service can be configured to sort the client device into a first subset of client devices or a second subset of client devices based on a user identifier, a version identifier, and (optionally) an application identifier. In this manner, the service can implement a gradual rollout of an update over a period of time.

  • Patent number: 9999162
Abstract: A circuit layout includes two or more high performance processing nodes that are cooled by a cooling fan. The cooling fan resides in a cooling fan assembly that relies on principles of aerodynamics to maximize airflow. The cooling fan assembly is coupled to the opposite side of a backplane to which the circuit layout is mounted. The backplane includes large ventilation holes to permit the cooling fan to induce significantly more airflow across the circuit layout than possible with conventional designs. At least one advantage of the approaches discussed herein is circuit layouts can be constructed to meet the competing objectives of high node performance and high node density. Accordingly, data centers can be built that offer high performance computing without requiring a significant increase in physical real estate.

  • Patent number: 6920444
Abstract: The present invention provides for a proxy object that aids in returning a set of column names in a relational database. A predetermined method may be called which returns the proxy object, the proxy object representing a table in the relational database. The proxy object may be recursive, such that it may contain references to other proxy objects, as well as to column proxy objects, which represent individual columns in the database. Accessing the column proxy object then allows an object-oriented language program to retrieve a column name and therefore access individual columns in the relational database without forehand knowledge of the column names. The calls to the methods returning the proxy objects will typically never change, and if column names are changed, deleted, or added, these changes can be easily handled if a database provider maintains the column proxy object by having the database provider update the proxy object(s).
