Abstract: A pad containing resistive heating elements and method of use to defrost a windshield are disclosed. In the preferred embodiment, the pad comprises a connection to a power source, a transceiver, a memory unit, a microprocessor, and an internal temperature sensor. The method of use comprises removably securing the pad to the internal surface of the windshield of the car by an attachment means. The pad may be set to automatically activate the heating elements when the outside temperature falls below a certain temperature or at a specific time. The user may remotely program the operation of the pad by a computer. The pad may also record information concerning the operation of the pad and transmit the information to the user.
