  • Publication number: 20130159008
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide systems and method for verifying healthcare visits. Location verification information may be received from a portable device by a verification system that includes one or more computers. The portable device may be associated with an individual directed to provide a healthcare service to a patient during a healthcare visit, and the location verification information may be collected by the portable device. The verification system may compare at least a portion of the received information to stored information associated with the patient. Based at least in part upon the comparison, the verification system may determine whether the healthcare visit was performed at an approved service location for the patient.

  • Publication number: 20120220475
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of identifying one or more epigenetic markers associated with psychosis-associated diseases such as bipolar disease or schizophrenia, the method comprising a) obtaining a first group of samples comprising genomic DNA from a plurality of bipolar or schizophrenic subjects and a second group of samples comprising genomic DNA from a plurality of control subjects; b) performing DNA methylation analysis to determine methylation differences in one or more DNA regions between the first group and second group of samples, wherein a methylation difference in a DNA region is indicative of an epigenetic marker associated with bipolar disease or schizophrenia. The invention also provides one or more epigenetic markers associated with psychosis-associated diseases such as bipolar disease or schizophrenia.

  • Publication number: 20110236340
Abstract: The present invention is directed to crosslinked cation exchange polymers comprising a fluoro group and an acid group, pharmaceutical compositions of these polymers, compositions of a linear polyol and a salt of such polymer. Crosslinked cation exchange polymers having beneficial physical properties, including combinations of particle size, particle shape, particle size distribution, viscosity, yield stress, compressibility, surface morphology, and/or swelling ratio are also described. These polymers and compositions are useful to bind potassium in the gastrointestinal tract.

  • Patent number: 7718746
Abstract: Anion-binding polymers are described. The anion-binding polymers in some cases are low swelling anion-binding polymers. In some cases, the anion-binding polymers have a pore volume distribution such that a fraction of the polymer is not available for non-interacting solutes above a certain percentage of the MW of the target ion for the polymer. In some cases, the anion-binding polymers are characterized by low ion-binding interference, where the interference is measured in, for example, a gastrointestinal simulant, relative to non-interfering buffer. Pharmaceutical composition, methods of use, and kits are also described.

  • Publication number: 20060284343
Abstract: A resin transfer system having an automatic vent system operably associated therewith is provided. The automatic vent system is operable to selectively engage once a predetermined amount of mouldable material has been introduced into the resin transfer system. The automatic vent system can also selectively remove or purge any excess materials, such as excess resin, from the resin transfer system, without having to manually clean any conduits or catch pots.
