  • Patent number: 8665048
Abstract: The invention provides an inductor assembly suitable for use in high frequency switched mode power converters, where the rate of change of voltage can exceed 109 Volts per second. The inductor is formed from a ribbon (30) of conductor wound around a magnetic core (140), and further includes electrostatic screens positioned between successive windings of the conductor to provide capacitive screening, substantially reducing high frequency voltage signals propagating from one end of the inductor to the other.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 1, 2009
Date of Patent: March 4, 2014
    Assignee: 3DI Power Limited
Inventors: Timothy Richard Crocker, Jonathan Narramore
  • Publication number: 20120328435
Abstract: A furling mechanism for a sail of a vertical axis turbine, the furling mechanism comprising: first and second elongate furling spars attachable to first and second edges of the sail; wherein each of the first and second furling spars are rotatable about their respective longitudinal axis such that, in use, rotation of the first and/or second furling spar causes the sail to be furled or unfurled.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 17, 2010
    Publication date: December 27, 2012
    Applicant: Tradewind Turbines Limited
