Publication number: 20240137770Abstract: A method is disclosed for handling a radio communication of a malicious user equipment, UE, in a wireless communication network. The method is performed by at least one network node in the wireless communication network. The method includes obtaining information identifying the malicious UE attached to the wireless communication network. The method includes performing at least one action to deter or delay serving the malicious UE without terminating the radio communication of the malicious UE with the wireless communication network. Further, the method includes controlling allocation of resources to the malicious UE to allow the malicious UE to retain the radio communication with the wireless communication network. Corresponding network node, and computer program products are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2021Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Christian SKÄRBY, Jonathan OLSSON, Prajwol Kumar NAKARMI, Walter MÜLLER, Loay ABDELRAZEK

Patent number: 8804552Abstract: A topology aware entity, such as an OSS (Operations Support System), an NMS (Network Management System) or an RM (Resource Manager), associated with an Ethernet network is configured to execute a method for topological location discovery of nodes that are added to the network. According to the method, the topology aware entity receives (step 30) a notification about a new node that has been added to the network. Then, the topology aware entity causes (step 31) an existing node to initiate a path discovery to the new node using an Ethernet Connectivity and Fault Management, CFM, protocol, such as IEE 802.1 ag or ITU-T Y.1731. The topology aware entity receives (step 32) the resulting path data from the existing node and identifies (step 33), based on the path data, a topological position of the new node in the Ethernet network. The method may be embodied as Identify topological position of new program instructions stored on a computer-readable medium.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2009Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventor: Jonathan Olsson

Patent number: 8576868Abstract: A client terminal and method for receiving Internet Protocol (IP) media packets over an IP distribution network. The client terminal includes a plurality of interfaces to the IP distribution network, the interfaces configured to receive media packets according to multicast, unicast, and peer-to-peer media distribution protocols. A media cache controller determines whether the media packets received over the interfaces are tagged as non-cacheable. If so, the media cache controller passes the media packets to a decoder for decoding and transmission to a video renderer. When the received media packets are not tagged as non-cacheable, the media cache controller caches the media packets in a local cache, and subsequently distributes the cached media packets to another client terminal or to a caching node using the unicast or the peer-to-peer media distribution protocol. Media packets received using one media distribution protocol may be distributed using a different media distribution protocol.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2012Date of Patent: November 5, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Johan Kölhi, Jonathan Olsson

Patent number: 8351452Abstract: A method and network node for distributing media across an IP network, the network node having multicast and peer-to-peer ingress interfaces, and unicast and peer-to-peer egress interfaces. For each of a plurality of contents, the network node selects an ingress interface and receives media packets representing the content at the selected interface. For each media packet received, the network node determines from information conveyed in the media packet whether that media packet can be cached at the network node and caches the media packet if permitted. When the network node receives a request from a further network node for a given content, the network node selects an egress interface and forwards media packets representing the given content to the further network node over that selected interface. If media packets representing the given content were cached, the cached media packets are forwarded to the further network node.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2007Date of Patent: January 8, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Johan Kölhi, Jonathan Olsson

Publication number: 20090210543Abstract: A system and method for providing an end-user network with information regarding access network resources allocated to specific services. The access network includes a Resource Management System (RMS) for managing service bindings in the access network. A Resource Discovery Client (RDC) associated with the end-user network sends a resource discovery request to a Resource Discovery Server (RDS) associated with the access network. The RDS receives the resource discovery request and obtains service binding information from the RMS. The service binding information indicates access network resources that are allocated to specific services. The RDS then sends a response to the RDC, and includes the information regarding access network resources allocated to specific services. The RDC may send the information to user devices in the end-user network.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2006Publication date: August 20, 2009Inventor: Jonathan Olsson
