  • Publication number: 20240099395
Abstract: A method of configuring a personal computing device for communication with an aerosol generation device involves a Progressive Web Application, PWA. A native application launches a web browser on the personal computing device and the web browser launches the PWA. The native application provides a resource to the web browser, which resource causes the web browser to process a call received by the web browser from the PWA intended for the aerosol generation device by directing a command based on the call to the native application. The command allows the native application to cause the personal communication device to communicate with the aerosol generation device over the short-range wireless communication connection.

  • Publication number: 20240030734
Abstract: A container having a battery and one or more active systems for maintaining temperature or other characteristics of goods stored within the container relies on a battery to maintain those active systems during transit. The size of the battery required for such applications may be reduced by providing access to external power during a shipment cycle. For example, shelves within transit vehicles or warehouses can supply electricity to the active systems via a wireless or wired connection, or they may recharge the container's battery, or both. The container may also have data bridging capabilities that use short range wireless technology to communicate with nearby devices that have access to other data streams, such as GPS data and internet connectivity. When bridged with a provider, the container may have access to new data streams, or may be able to disable internal devices providing those same data streams to conserve power.

  • Publication number: 20230289573
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer program product, and a computer system for assessing fairness of a deep generative model. A computer system receives a user defined fairness criterion for the deep generative model. A computer system probes the deep generative model to produce samples for a target output. A computer system evaluates the samples for the fairness of the deep generative model, according to the user defined fairness criterion. A computer system produces a set of recommendations for modifying the deep generative model to meet the user defined fairness criterion, in response to determining that the deep generative model does not meet the user defined fairness criterion. In response to determining that the deep generative model is to be modified, a computer system applies at least one subset of the recommendations to the deep generative model. A computer system updates the deep generative model.

  • Patent number: 11586788
Abstract: In one embodiment, simulation systems and methods perform tessellation, on a GPU in a simulation system, of finite element method (FEM) elements in one or more simulated objects using physics solution data directly obtained by the GPU from the solver. In one embodiment, software compiled to run on the GPU can process the raw, native physics solution data to tessellate non-linear FEM elements without requiring preprocessing or ray tracing. In one embodiment, the tessellation can be performed on the fly based on a user's selected view of the simulated objects, and the selected view can be used to select a subset of the FEM elements and perform a tessellation on only the subset. In one embodiment, a level of tessellation can be dynamically determined based on the user's selected view.
