    Abstract: A network node is adapted to wirelessly receive content data from remote wireless devices if they have been provisioned to the network node via provisioning data. The network node includes a memory for storing first provisioning data, a transceiver adapted to transmit a portion of the first provisioning data for receipt and storage by a second node, receive a portion of second provisioning data stored in the second node, communicate with a remote cloud based source of provisioning data, transmit content data communicated to the first node by a wireless device to a remote data store, and a programmable processor. The processor determines whether a detected device has or has not been formerly provisioned with the first node. If the detected device has not been formerly provisioned with the first node, and if provisioning data for the detected device is not available in the first or the second provisioning data, provisioning data for the detected device is obtained from the remote cloud based source.

    Abstract: A gateway has a transceiver for communicating with Bluetooth vitals devices (BVDs) and a processor and program instructions. The gateway receives and stores pairing keys from one or more of the BVDs for provisioning the BVDs to the gateway, receives vital sign information from the BVDs, stores the pairing keys in a remote trusted server, and communicates with other gateways in the environment. The gateway also retrieves pairing keys for unprovisioned BVDs from either another gateway or the remote trusted server, and creates a remote private network for secure communications among two or more of the gateway, the remote server, an electronic health records store, caregivers, physicians, or a personalized data service.

    Abstract: Vital sign data is communicated from one or more Bluetooth vital sign measuring devices (BVSMD) to one or more gateways located within an environment. At least one of the gateways communicates the vital sign data to an endpoint, that may include electronic health records, via a wide area network (WAN). The gateways communicate among themselves using one or more of a plurality of protocols, such as LoRa, WiFi, cellular, ethernet or direct IP. Each gateway may be capable of forming a mesh network with other gateways. Each gateway may also share a Bluetooth bonding key with another gateway, so as to allow BVSMD's to communicate with other gateways without individually pairing each BVSMD to the other gateways. The BVSMD's may be Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. Each gateway may be capable of periodically generating a random access address that is mapped with a BVSMD MAC address. The access address is used for communication between the BVSMD and the gateway for enhanced security.
