  • Publication number: 20110270099
Abstract: An implantable medical device (IMD) is disclosed. The IMD includes a first substrate having a front side and a backside. A first via is formed in the front side, the via extending from a bottom point in the front side to a first height located at a surface of the front side. A first conductive pad is formed in the first via, the first conductive pad having an exposed top surface lower than first height. A second substrate is coupled to the first substrate, the second substrate having a second via formed in the front side, the via extending from a bottom point in the front side to a second height located at a surface of the front side. A second conductive pad is formed in the second via, the second conductive pad having an exposed top surface lower than second height. The coupled substrates are heated until a portion of one or both conductive pads reflow, dewet, agglomerate, and merge to form an interconnect, hermetic seal, or both depending on the requirements of the device.

  • Publication number: 20090172072
Abstract: The present invention offers a component that enables the presenter to begin presenting the first pages of the document as they become available, without having to wait on the entire document to be processed. The present invention provides an approach that is used to monitor document processing as it taking place on a server. As each page is in the document is processed (e.g., converted), a monitoring component signals a controlling component to alert it of the specific progress events (e.g., a new page available). The controlling component can immediately interface with clients using a real-time communication component, for example letting users know when each single page is available for consumption. Once alerted, an informed client can signal all other clients which page to view.

  • Patent number: 6634260
Abstract: A tool for adjusting extremely tight lug nuts, such as often found on tractor-trailer trucks, consists of a socket wrench pulled by a screw and anchored against another lug nut coaxial to the one being adjusted. A hand crank turns the screw, which in turn pulls the handle of the socket wrench toward the anchor yielding very high torque multiplication. The tool is elongated and shaped to permit its use in the tight space found in the annular recess surrounding the hubs of most truck wheels.

  • Patent number: 6245981
Abstract: A circular slide attachment with pitch notations and additional markings is provided to enable circular pitch instruments and their indicia to be used for transposing musical keys. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, a circular slide having twelve chromatic scale note indicia is rotatably and coaxially fixed to a thirteen-tone pitch instrument bearing thirteen note indicia. Additional markings affixed to the pitch instrument cooperate with markings on the slide to enable transposition of the notes represented by one set of indicia to the notes represented by the other.

  • Patent number: 5528964
Abstract: A torque multiplying assist tool engages and pivots about a fulcrum to assist a conventional wrench in operating upon a work-piece. The assist tool functions as a secondary lever by receiving an applied force, pivoting about the fulcrum, and exerting a multiplied force upon the wrench. The wrench includes a grip element that is engaged to the work-piece and a handle extending from the grip element. The multiplied force is applied by way of a linkage assembly to the handle of the wrench causing the wrench to pivot such that torque is applied to the work-piece. In accordance with the preferred embodiments of the present invention, the assist tool is constructed and arranged to cooperate with the wrench to aid in the removal of a lug nut from a vehicle wheel. The work-piece is a lug nut (i.e., a primary lug nut) on the wheel and the fulcrum is another lug nut (i.e., a secondary lug nut) on the same wheel.

  • Patent number: 5415357
Abstract: A product roll includes, in its most preferred embodiment, a cylindrical core defining a core central passage for receipt of a dispenser spindle and including a core outer surface and a core inner surface, a roll of product coaxially wound around and attached to the core outer surface, and a rotation retardant attached to the core inner surface for retarding rotation of the product roll with respect to the dispenser spindle. Alternate embodiments include a cylindrical core with an adhesive filler as one component of the core mass, a multi-layered core having an inner layer defining friction-increasing projections and indentations, and a core insert with a strong outer adhesive for relative stationary engagement with the core and a weak inner adhesive for impeding rotation of the core and core insert assembly.

  • Patent number: 5273227
Abstract: A rotation-retarded product roll which product roll includes, in its most preferred embodiment, a cylindrical core defining a core central passage for receipt of a dispenser spindle and including a core outer surface and a core inner surface, a roll of product coaxially wound around and attached to the core outer surface, and a rotation retardant attached to the core inner surface for retarding rotation of the product roll with respect to the dispenser spindle. In an alternate embodiment of the present invention, an alternately formed core inner surface retards rotation of the product roll with respect to the dispenser spindle.
