  • Patent number: 11090806
Abstract: Systems, methods and articles of manufacture for synchronized robot orientation are described herein. A magnetometer, gyroscope, and accelerometer in a remotely controlled device are used to determine a current orientation of that device, and a command with a specified orientation or location are set to several such devices. The remotely controlled devices self-align based on the specified orientation/location, and when in position, receive swarm commands to perform actions as a group of devices in coordination with one another.

  • Patent number: 11054656
Abstract: Systems, methods, and articles of manufacture for autostereoscopic imaging in a vehicle provide for an enhanced viewer experience. In one example, a reflector is positioned to receive an image from a projector and reflect the image onto a viewing surface through which an external scene is visible, and a camera is positioned relative to the viewing surface to observe the external scene. The system determines first and second viewing distances and viewing angles from the viewing surface to respective first and second eyes for a viewer; produces first and second sub-images for viewing at the respective eyes based on an image; and projects the first and second sub-images from the projector to the reflector to reflect the sub-images to the respective first and second positions on the viewing surface, wherein the positions are set according to the viewing distances and angles to provide a 3D image to the viewer.

  • Publication number: 20200151956
Abstract: To capture augmented reality (AR) on a head mounted display the embodiments described herein include the optical display of virtual components of an AR on an AR device. A real world view within a field of view of the display of the AR device is captured, creating a composite image that combines the virtual components and real world physical components within the field of view of the AR device.

  • Publication number: 20190325661
Abstract: To prevent virtual content from occluding physical objects in an augmented reality (AR) system, the embodiments herein describe generating a pass-through texture using a pre-generated model of a physical object. In one embodiment, the AR system determines the location of the physical object as well as its orientation. With this information, the system rotates and re-sizes the pre-generated model of the object to match its location and orientation in the real-world. The system then generates the pass-through texture from the pre-generated model and inserts the texture into the virtual content. When the virtual content is displayed, the pass-through texture permits light from the real-world view to pass through substantially unaffected by the virtual content. In this manner, the physical object (which aligns with the location of the pass-through texture in the virtual content) can be seen by the user—i.e., is not occluded by the virtual content.

  • Publication number: 20190243594
Abstract: Techniques for improved interactive devices are provided. Input is received from a user, where the input includes a first request. The input is evaluated using one or more natural language processing techniques to determine a context of the input, and a response to the input is generated based at least in part on the determined context. A first virtual character of a plurality of virtual characters is selected based at least in part on the determined context. The first virtual character is displayed on a rotating display, and the generated response is implemented while the first virtual character is being displayed.

  • Publication number: 20180093181
Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques for automating control of electronic device. A first interactive game playing within the physical environment using one or more electronic devices is detected. Embodiments collect electromyogram data from one or more electromyography sensors within the physical environment and analyze the electromyogram data collected to determine muscle activations made by the user. Upon determining that the determined muscle activations made by the user match a predefined pattern of electromyography data, embodiments determine a gameplay action corresponding to the predefined pattern of electromyography data and transmit an instruction, to at least one of the one or more electronic devices within the physical environment, instructing the electronic device to perform the determined gameplay action.
