  • Publication number: 20260126078
Abstract: A suspension thrust bearing unit includes upper and lower annular caps and a rolling-element bearing therebetween. The lower annular cap includes an annular circumferential groove between first and second radially outwardly extending seal flanges, and the upper annular cap includes an outer axial skirt that extends axially from the upper cap towards the lower cap and radially surrounds the second seal flange. The first and second seal flanges and the axial skirt form a labyrinth seal. The groove includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced ribs each extending radially outward from the lower cap and axially from the first seal flange to the second seal flange, and the plurality of ribs are at least partially located inside the outer axial skirt.

  • Publication number: 20250377024
Abstract: A strut bearing device includes a lower support cover, an upper rest cover, and at least one bearing arranged between the lower and upper covers. The lower support cover includes an annular radial portion for supporting the bearing and an annular axial skirt which extends axially from the radial portion on the opposite side to the upper rest cover. The axial skirt has an annular inner surface provided with a plurality of stiffening ribs extending radially inwardly in a projecting manner and spaced in a circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 9789887
Abstract: A backing ring assembly is for a railcar axle assembly including a shaft with a central axis and a bearing mounted on the shaft. An annular backing ring is disposeable upon the shaft between the bearing and a shaft enlarged section and has a central axis, an inner surface extending about the axis and defining a central bore for receiving the shaft and a retention surface facing away from the shaft enlarged section when the backing ring is disposed upon the shaft. A retainer includes an annular body, disposeable about the shaft enlarged section and having an inner surface sized to frictionally engage with the shaft enlarged section cylindrical surface, and at least one coupler connected with the annular body. The coupler(s) engage with the ring retention surface to releasably connect the retainer annular body with the backing ring to retain the ring at a fixed position on the shaft.
