  • Publication number: 20240115804
Abstract: A pump for pumping fluid includes a tube platen, a plunger, a bias member, inlet and outlet valves, an actuator mechanism, a position sensor, and a processor. The plunger is configured for actuation toward and away from the infusion-tube when the tube platen is disposed opposite to the plunger. The tube platen can hold an intravenous infusion tube. The bias member is configured to urge the plunger toward the tube platen.

  • Patent number: 7273260
Abstract: A breakaway device (10) to detect when a towed vehicle (14) separates from a towing vehicle (16) in order to engage the towed vehicle's brakes broadly comprises a sensor operable to detect when a signal from the towing vehicle (16) is lost and a shunt operable to route electrical power to the brakes. In a preferred embodiment, the sensor and the shut may be embodied in a transistor (26). In an alternative embodiment, the sensor and the shut may be embodied in an electro-mechanical switch (34). The device (10) preferably includes an override (42) and lights (44,46) to indicate the device's (10) status.

  • Patent number: 6752474
Abstract: A system (10) and method for managing an electric brake (12) in a towed vehicle (14) during a breakaway event by managing current delivery to the electric brake (12) so as to maximize both effectiveness and efficiency. A power management module (24) delivers a first level of current for a first duration in order to stop the trailer (14), and delivers a second level of current in order to hold the trailer (14) in place. When provided with feedback, the module can actively adjust the first level of current to a maximum current while avoiding locking the electric brake (12), and to adjust the second level of current to a minimum current sufficient to hold the trailer (14). Additionally, front and rear electric brakes (12A,12B) can be managed differently or independently in order to achieve the most effective and efficient result.
