  • Patent number: 8747945
Abstract: A method for coating a metallic substrate includes applying a powder coating composition to a majority of a surface of the metallic substrate, and applying an autodepositable coating composition to less than the majority of the surface of the metallic substrate. According to a preferred embodiment, the powder coating composition is applied to at least one continuous surface of the metallic substrate, while the autodepositable coating composition is applied to at least one discontinuous surface, such as an edge, of the metallic substrate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 10, 2012
Date of Patent: June 10, 2014
    Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.
Inventors: John M. Spangler, Jonathan Savage, Gregory Osborn

  • Publication number: 20100008749
Abstract: A modular paint line includes a plurality of modular stations positioned in series and defining a transportation path. At least one of the modular stations includes an immersion tank. The paint line also includes means for moving at least a first carrier in a forward transport direction along the transportation path while maintaining at least a second carrier in a stationary position, above the immersion tank, along the transportation path. The aforementioned means includes an article transportation system having a plurality of carrier tracks.

  • Publication number: 20060179312
Abstract: A system such as in a networked computer system comprising a user, an application server, a gatekeeper server and an authentication server. Communication within the system is managed by the gatekeeper server, wherein the user communicates with the authentication server and the application server through the gatekeeper server. Once the user has been initially authenticated by the authentication server, the user may request application services from a plurality of application servers within the networked computer system without having to be re-authenticated.

  • Patent number: 5891697
Abstract: cDNAs encoding (+)-bornyl diphosphate synthase, 1,8-cineole synthase and (+)-sabinene synthase from common sage (Salvia officinalis) have been isolated and sequenced, and the corresponding amino acid sequences has been determined. Accordingly, isolated DNA sequences (SEQ ID No:1; SEQ ID No:3 and SEQ ID No:5) are provided which code for the expression of (+)-bornyl diphosphate synthase (SEQ ID No:2), 1,8-cineole synthase (SEQ ID No:4) and (+)-sabinene synthase SEQ ID No:6), respectively, from sage (Salvia officinalis). In other aspects, replicable recombinant cloning vehicles are provided which code for (+)-bornyl diphosphate synthase, 1,8-cineole synthase or (+)-sabinene synthase, or for a base sequence sufficiently complementary to at least a portion of (+)-bornyl diphosphate synthase, 1,8-cineole synthase or (+)-sabinene synthase DNA or RNA to enable hybridization therewith.
