  • Patent number: 7884814
Abstract: An apparatus and method for concealing and revealing a light emitting display. The apparatus includes a housing structure, for positioning about the display, which has an opening aligned for visual access to the display. A film is disposed within the opening, which has the optical properties of partial reflectance and partial transmittance. A shade is supported by the housing structure, and includes a means for moving the shade between a concealed position that disables visual access to the display and a revealed position that enables visual access to the display.

  • Patent number: 7397461
Abstract: An apparatus for concealing a light emitting video display mounted to a vertical surface by reflecting incident ambient light in mirror-like fashion. The apparatus includes a perimeter structure, which is positioned adjacent to the vertical surface about the video display. The perimeter structure has a front opening for enabling visual access to the video display. A beam-split film is disposed within the front opening, and has the characteristics of partial transmission of the light emitted by the video display and partial reflection of the incident ambient light. A fan is disposed to circulate air adjacent to the video display, and a light baffle is disposed about the perimeter structure for enabling circulation of ambient air through the perimeter structure while preventing the transmission of ambient light into the perimeter structure.

  • Patent number: 7337024
Abstract: An apparatus for concealing a display of the flat panel type, and for supporting and extending the display to a viewing position. The apparatus includes a display cover that operates between a concealed position and a revealed position, and a display support that operates between a retracted position and an extended position. There is also a display support interlock that is coupled to disable operation of the display support when the display cover moves away from the revealed position, and a display cover interlock that is coupled to disable operation of the display cover when the display support moves away from the retracted position. A controller with a wireless remote is coupled to the components of the apparatus to enable remote operation thereof. A housing with decorative frame surrounds the flat panel display and presents a display opening. The display cover may be a fabric sheet that is furled from a motor driven roller within the display opening.

  • Patent number: 7316379
Abstract: A mounting bracket apparatus for adjustably supporting a flat panel display from a wall. The mounting bracket includes a wall bracket, a display bracket and two traversing mounts. The traversing mounts are supportively disposed between the wall bracket and the display bracket, and driven along a pair of substantially parallel linear axes by a pair of actuators enabling vertical adjustment of the display bracket. The traversing mounts are flexibly coupled between the wall bracket and the display bracket, thereby enabling misalignment of the positions to adjust the skew of the display bracket relative to the wall bracket.

  • Patent number: 6901987
Abstract: A decorative covering apparatus and method. A frame with an opening formed into it has a first roller that rotates about an axis. A flexible cover is arranged to loop between a first edge that is fixed relative to the frame and a second edge that is affixed to the first roller. A second roller is disposed at the apex of the loop in the flexible cover, and, a motor is coupled to rotate the first roller in a first direction and in a second direction. This action causes a furling and unfurling the flexible cover to reveal and conceal the opening. It also causes the second roller to traverse the opening in the frame. A decorative frame is attached to the frame. The decorative cover is adapted to conceal and reveal a wall mounted object located behind the opening in the frame, such as a flat panel television set. Control is implemented with a remote control receiver, which receives a control signal that is coupled to control the motor to rotate in an up and down direction.
