  • Publication number: 20100322584
Abstract: A cable pulling assembly includes an enclosure that is adapted for enclosing an end of a fiber optic cable. The enclosure includes a first member that defines a first cavity. The first cavity is adapted to receive a portion of the end of the fiber optic cable. The enclosure further includes a second member that is selectively engaged to the first member. The second member defines a second cavity. The second member is structurally identical to the first member. The enclosure is adapted to transfer a tensile force applied to the enclosure to the strength layer of the fiber optic cable.

  • Publication number: 20100316347
Abstract: A cable pulling assembly includes an enclosure that is adapted for enclosing a connector of a fiber optic cable. The enclosure includes a body having a base portion and a cover portion. The base portion includes a first axial end and a second axial end and defines a first connector cavity. The first connector cavity is adapted to receive a portion of the connector of the fiber optic cable. The cover portion includes a first axial end and an oppositely disposed second axial end. The second axial end is engaged to the second axial end of the base portion at a hinge. The cover portion defines a second connector cavity that is adapted to receive a remaining portion of the connector. The enclosure defines a hole that extends through the base and cover portions. The hole is adapted to receive a pulling member.

  • Publication number: 20100310224
Abstract: A fiber optic enclosure assembly includes a housing having an interior region and a bearing mount disposed in the interior region of the housing. A cable spool is connectedly engaged with the bearing mount such that the cable spool selectively rotates within the housing. A termination module disposed on the cable spool so that the termination module rotates in unison with the cable spool. A method of paying out a fiber optic cable from a fiber optic enclosure includes rotating a cable spool, which has a subscriber cable coiled around a spooling portion of the cable spool, about an axis of a housing of the fiber optic enclosure until a desired length of subscriber cable is paid out. A termination module is disposed on the cable spool.
