In a refrigerator, a storage compartment includes an insulated shelf to separate a freezer compartment from a refrigerator compartment. The insulated shelf is movable to alter the size of the freezer compartment. In some cases, the freezer compartment is accessed by an internal door having a main door and a secondary door that can open separately to provide selective access to portions of the storage compartment. In other cases, the freezer compartment is accessed by an internal door that swings up about a horizontally-directed hinge axis.
