Abstract: A social networking platform offering various services, such as, facilitating aggregation and management of a user's interaction on one or more social networking platforms, offering enhanced control over the level of privacy associated with the flow of user data, offering tools to customize the user's exposure to advertisement-related content on the social networking platform(s), integrating features to control aspects of how data/content is presented to and visualized by the user, empowering the user to multicast direct messages to other users without the other users having to meet certain constraints, empowering the user to create and/or join a group based on messaging threads, and the like. One or more of these enhanced services/features are associated with a powerful framework of authentication/permission model for access control.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product for providing late return detection of a shared vehicle is presented. A computer system determines an end time of a first reservation of a shared vehicle by a first member of a vehicle sharing service. Then a location of the shared vehicle is determined at a first predetermined time before the end time of the first reservation. Based on the end time of the first reservation and the location of the shared vehicle, a potential late return of the shared vehicle is determined. If the shared vehicle return will be late, then at least one of the first member and a representative of the vehicle sharing service are notified so appropriate actions can be taken.

Abstract: A method for sharing information limited by permission comprising a user providing content to be shared, the user specifying a plurality of individuals or Groups with which to share the content, after the providing and specifying, automatically creating a new Group comprising the specified plurality, and distributing the content to the new Group. Also a method for sharing information limited by permission comprising compiling in an online service a plurality of individual members and Groups, providing content associated with the individuals and Groups, and displaying to a user a combined content view capable of being based on any combination of one or more of: types of Group content; Groups in which the user is a member; combinations of individual members in Groups in which the user is a member; content shared with the user by any of the user's contacts; content from sources external to the online service; access and permissions levels; and user selectable display settings.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for improved fault isolation and fault reduction. A system for use with a data network includes multiple diagnostic units each adapted to communicate with the network including to a network user. A central controller is operatively connected to the diagnostic units, the controller being adapted to communicate with and coordinate operations of the diagnostic units, to instruct the diagnostic units to perform tests adapted to help isolate a network fault, and to analyze test results received from a diagnostic unit to attempt to determine the network fault. Various methods for improving fault isolation and fault reduction are also provided.

Abstract: A policy engine generates configlets that are vendor-neutral, vendor-specific or both, based on a selected target level and a selected device/device group. A translator translates and combines the configlets to form vendor-dependent configuration files. The policy engine generates the configlets using policies associated with the selected target level and its sub-target levels, as defined by a target level hierarchy. A policy includes at least a condition, and an action which the policy engine performs if the condition is true. In performing the action, the policy engine typically writes to at least a partial configlet. A policy may further include a verification clause, which is used to verify a running configuration. Policy dependencies may also be defined such that where a second policy is dependent on a first policy, the second policy must be evaluated after the first policy. This is necessary, where, for example, the first policy generates and stores a value to be used by the second policy.
