  • Publication number: 20230252822
Abstract: A smart glass for incorporating speech recognition in an immersive reality environment is provided. The smart glass includes an eyepiece mounted on a frame including a transparent optical component to provide a user a view of a scene in a real world. The smart glass also includes a first camera configured to capture an image of a hand gesture from an interlocutor in the real world, and a processor configured to recognize, in the image of the hand gesture, a textual meaning. A system including memories storing instructions and processors to execute the instructions to perform methods for use of the above smart glass, and the methods, are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9801534
Abstract: An extendable intubation device is disclosed that includes a tube assembly having a plurality of elongated tubes. Within the assembly, a base tube is coupled with an extension tube to maintain a continuous fluid pathway along the tube assembly during a fore-and-aft movement of the extension tube relative to the base tube. The extendable intubation device can include a camera system to allow a user (e.g. physician) to visually monitor the advancement of the distal end of the extension tube into the trachea of the patient. The camera system can include a sensor portion attached to the distal end of the extension tube and a monitor portion. A conductive wire connects the sensor portion to the monitor portion. The monitor portion of the camera system can be provided as an eyepiece at the proximal end of the intubation device and/or as a stand alone display.

  • Patent number: 9389079
Abstract: An integrated optomechanical disk vibratory gyroscope device includes a mechanical oscillator having a substantially circular structure. The substantially circular structure is supported by a pillar, and mechanically isolated from a surrounding structure by a gap or slot. One or more actuators are coupled to the mechanical oscillator across the gap or slot. Each of the one or more actuators is configured to excite the mechanical oscillator in a driving mode. One or more optomechanical cavities are disposed substantially in a plane defined by the mechanical oscillator. At least one component of the one or more optomechanical cavities is disposed on or in the substantially circular structure. Each of the at least one or more optomechanical cavities configured to measure a displacement of the mechanical oscillator in a sensing mode. A method of manufacture is also described.

  • Publication number: 20140018626
Abstract: An extendable intubation device is disclosed that includes a tube assembly having a plurality of elongated tubes. Within the assembly, a base tube is coupled with an extension tube to maintain a continuous fluid pathway along the tube assembly during a fore-and-aft movement of the extension tube relative to the base tube. For example, a portion of the extension tube can be co-axially mounted within the lumen of the base tube. Additional extension tubes can be included. The length and curvature of the extendable intubation device can be manually adjusted by a control unit having at least one control wire. The control wire(s) are attached to the distal end of the most distal extension tube and can be employed to reciprocally move one or more of the extension tubes in a fore-and-aft movement relative to the base tube and/or selectively bend the tube assembly.
