  • Patent number: 12301089
Abstract: Power systems and enclosures having improved cooling air flow are disclosed. In some examples, a power system includes an enclosure, a first air inlet, a first air routing path, and a second air routing path. The first air inlet is at a first location on an exterior of the enclosure to permit intake of air from the exterior of the enclosure to an interior of the enclosure. The first air routing path is defined by the enclosure and directs air from the first air inlet through a welding-type power supply and a compressor. The second air routing path is separate from the first air routing path and defined by the enclosure. The second air routing path directs the air from the first air inlet or a second air inlet through at least one of an engine or a generator.

  • Patent number: 11084115
Abstract: A welder-generator comprising an engine operatively coupled to a generator, weld circuitry, and a cooling system. The generator is configured to produce an electrical signal. The weld circuitry includes inverter circuitry configured to control characteristics of the electrical signal. A cooling system is configured to substantially block heat generated by operation of the engine from being transmitted to the weld circuitry.

  • Patent number: 10933484
Abstract: An engine-driven welding power supply, comprising a frame, an engine attached to the frame, and a generator attached to the frame. The generator is driven by the engine and configured to output electrical power via an electrical receptacle. Weld power conversion circuitry is integrally attached to the frame and configured to output welding-type power. A power conductor configured to provide input power to the weld conversion circuitry is configured to be manually coupled to the electrical receptacle or to an external source of electrical power. The weld power conversion circuitry is configured to convert the input power received via the power conductor to welding-type power.

  • Publication number: 20190061071
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for engine idling without battery in welding-type setups. An engine-driven welding-type power supply system may comprise an engine; a generator configured to convert mechanical power from the engine to electric power; a power conditioning circuit for converting output power from the generator to welding-type output power for use in welding-type operations; a controller configured to control operations of the engine; and a power supply component configured to provide power to the controller. Controlling operations of the engine may comprise automatically transitioning the engine to and/or from an idle mode (in which the engine idles); and the power supply component may be configured to provide power to the controller during at least the idle mode, and without use of a starting battery. The transitioning to and/or from idle mode may be done automatically.
