  • Publication number: 20230183455
Abstract: The invention is directed to a polymer composition having reduced odor emission. The polymer composition comprises a plurality of functionalized silicate particles dispersed in a polymer component. The invention further describes a process for preparing the polymer composition involving either a compounding process or a masterbatch process. In addition, the invention further describes an automobile component comprising the polymer composition of the present invention or articles, which are prepared by injection molding or extrusion of the polymer composition of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20190290762
Abstract: Colloidosome containing active agents and uses thereof are described. The colloidosome can include (a) a responsive micro- or nanostructured porous shell defined by a plurality of nanomaterials and interstices formed between the micro- or nanomaterials and (b) a core that is defined by the responsive micro- or nanostructured porous shell. The shell is loaded with an active agent capable of being released from the shell in response to a stimulus.

  • Publication number: 20170251674
Abstract: This application relates to the modulation of the flora of bacteria in an environment by inhibiting the quorum sensing of a specific bacteria in said environment by administering an effective amount of a quorum sensing control composition comprising at least one quorum sensing control agent, which is an adsorbent/catalytic inhibitor for a QS signal molecule, such as, N-acyl homoserine lactones (AHL), pseudomonas quinolone signal (PQS), and autoinducer-1 (AI-1), autoinducer-2 (AI-2) type of quorum sensing molecules. Quorum sensing control agents include a sorbent material, sorbent mineral or non-porous mineral such as, for example, phyllosilicate clays, silica, calcite, zeolites, diatomaceous earth, smectite, activated carbon, a nanoparticle or a combination of any of the foregoing. Methods include inhibiting the spoilage of food stuffs and preventing vibriosis in fish or shell fish.
