Patent number: 11105577Abstract: A suppressed pistol has a breech block and a slide mounted on a frame. The breech block and slide are separate pieces, movable relatively to one another and the frame. A link extends between the breech block and the frame. The link carries a cam and a cam follower. The cam follower on the link engages a cam on the frame, the cam on the link engages a cam follower on the slide. Action between the cams, cam followers and the link causes separation between the breech block and the slide during operation of the pistol. The suppressor includes a container having baffle plates with truncated cones defining openings offset from the geometric centers of the baffle plates.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2020Date of Patent: August 31, 2021Assignee: SilencerCo, LLCInventors: Phillip Brady Thomas, Casey Brandol, Jonathon Shults, Harrison Holden

Patent number: 10018440Abstract: A sound suppressor for a firearm includes a plurality of segments attached end to end to form a container having an entrance orifice and an exit orifices defining a firing axis. Baffles are positioned in some of the segments. The baffles have a plate from which a truncated cone projects. The cone defines an opening aligned with the firing axis. The opening is offset from the geometric center of the plates.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2016Date of Patent: July 10, 2018Assignee: SilencerCo, LLCInventors: Jonathon Shults, Harrison Holden, Casey Brandol

Publication number: 20170131061Abstract: A muzzle loading firearm has a sound suppressor mounted on the barrel. Attachment of the suppressor to the barrel may be permanent, as by welding, brazing and adhesive bonding. A guide tube inserted into the suppressor is used to provide a continuous path from the open end of the suppressor to the muzzle end of the barrel to permit loading of propellant charge and projectile from the muzzle end. The guide tube isolates the chambers of the suppressor and prevents grains of the propellant charge from being lost in the suppressor as they are poured into the barrel. The tube also protects the internal components of the suppressor from damage during loading with a ramrod.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2017Publication date: May 11, 2017Inventors: Jonathon Shults, Harrison Holden, Casey Brandol

Patent number: 9328984Abstract: A noise suppressor system for attachment to a firearm including a barrel having a longitudinal axis. The noise suppressor system including the combination of: a flash suppressor adapted to be attached to the muzzle of the barrel coaxially therewith, a noise suppressor including a proximal mount assembly having a bore for coaxially receiving the flash suppressor, and a means for selectively coupling the noise suppressor system to the firearm.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2014Date of Patent: May 3, 2016Assignee: SilencercoInventors: Jonathon Shults, Harrison Holden, Casey Brandol

Publication number: 20150285576Abstract: A flash suppressor configured to be secured in place relative to a muzzle of a barrel of a firearm is disclosed. The flash suppressor includes a plurality of tines, with each tine of the plurality of tines being configured (e.g., with different masses, different lengths, etc.) to affect resonance, harmonic interaction and/or induced harmonic noise reduction as a result of expanding, and combusting gases and/or a projectile exiting the muzzle of the firearm. The flash suppressor may comprise part of a suppressor system that also includes a sound suppressor, or silencer.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2014Publication date: October 8, 2015Inventors: Jonathon Shults, Harrison Holden, Casey Brandol

Publication number: 20150253099Abstract: A baffle for a noise suppressor for a firearm has a conical section having a proximal end and a distal end. The conical section defines a bore having a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal and distal ends. The bore has a smaller diameter at the proximal end than at the distal end. The conical section has a proximally facing surface facing away from the longitudinal axis and a distally facing surface facing toward the longitudinal axis. A distal shoulder is positioned at the distal end of the bore. The distal shoulder extends circumferentially around the bore and projects toward the longitudinal axis. A proximal shoulder is positioned at the proximal end of the bore. The shoulder extends circumferentially around the bore and projects toward the longitudinal axis. An aperture extends through the conical section. The aperture is oriented to direct a gas jet substantially perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2015Publication date: September 10, 2015Inventor: Jonathon Shults

Patent number: 9097482Abstract: A sound suppressor for a firearm, such as a shotgun, may include a rear end cap, a plurality of baffle units and a front end cap that are configured to be assembled in an end-to-end arrangement. These elements may be secured to one another with one or more elongated coupling elements that extend through the end-to-end arrangement, along with one or more complementary securing elements. Such a sound suppressor may lack an outer housing. A plurality of guide rods may extend through an interior of such a sound suppressor in a manner that provides the framework for a passage for a projectile as it moves through the sound suppressor. A barrel coupling element that may be used with a sound suppressor is also disclosed, as are methods for tailoring the length of a sound suppressor and for customizing the types and arrangement of baffles used in the sound suppressor.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2014Date of Patent: August 4, 2015Assignee: SilencerCo LLCInventors: Harrison Holden, Casey Brandol, Jonathon Shults
