    Abstract: An on-chip circuit to quantitatively measure threshold voltage shifts of a MOSFET. The circuit includes a programmable Vt reference sensor; a programmable Vt monitoring sensor; and a comparator for receiving inputs from the reference and monitoring sensors providing an output flag signal. The shifting of the MOSFET device voltage threshold monitors process variations, geometry sensitivity, plasma damage, stress, and hot carriers and other device damages. The same circuit also measures voltage differences between any two nodes in an integrated circuit chip or wafer.

    Abstract: A broadcast receiving system capable of receiving mobile broadcast data and a method for processing broadcast signals are disclosed. The RS frame decoder performs CRC-decoding and RS-decoding on the RS frame, thereby correcting errors occurred in the corresponding mobile broadcast service data. Adding a parity for an error correction to the packet into which the SRS data has been inserted, the packet to which the parity has been added is interleaved, and a trellis encoding of the interleaved packet is performed. Inserting a segment sync signal and a field sync signal into the trellis-encoded packet, and a vestigial side band (VSB) modulation and an RF conversion of the packet are performed to transmit the VSB-modulated and RF-converted packet.

    Abstract: Provided are a pipeline Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) without a front-end Sample-and-Hold Amplifier (SHA) and a method of controlling the same. The method includes the steps of: simultaneously sampling, at an ADC and a residual signal generator included in a first stage, an analog input signal and respectively generating a first sampling value and a second sampling value; holding, at the residual signal generator, the second sampling value, and simultaneously amplifying and converting, at the ADC, the first sampling value into a corresponding digital code; and generating, at the residual signal generator, a residual signal using the digital code. The pipeline ADC and method of controlling the same minimize sampling mismatch caused by removing a front-end SHA, thereby ensuring stable performance without a front-end SHA. Since a front-end SHA is not used, it is possible to reduce chip size and power consumption, and improve the performance of the ADC.
