    Abstract: Disclosed is binary image-processing device and method using symbol dictionary rearrangement. The binary image-processing device comprises a symbol-extracting unit for extracting symbols from an inputted binary image; a symbol-matching unit for matching a extracted symbol with a previously registered symbol and building a symbol dictionary; and a symbol dictionary rearrangement unit for re-arranging the symbol dictionary. The present invention re-arranges symbols extracted from binary images, thereby bringing an advantage of eliminating the conventional inefficiency caused by registering the symbols in the symbol dictionary in the order symbols are extracted from the binary images.

The digital image processing device and method each employ a first interpolation unit for applying a predetermined interpolation scheme with respect to low-resolution input image information, and outputting first interpolation image information; and a compensation unit for producing binary values with respect to the first interpolation image information using the input image information and the first interpolation image information, and compensating for the first interpolation image information based on the binary values. The device and method also each employ a second interpolation unit for applying a predetermined interpolation scheme with respect to the input image information, and outputting second interpolation image information; and an emphasis unit for emphasizing the compensated first interpolation image information using the second interpolation image information.

The method and apparatus then perform a first interpolation and a second interpolation using the calculated interpolation factor, and calculate a correction interpolation pixel value for the interpolation location of the magnified image using adjacent pixel values of the adjacent pixels, a first pixel value obtained by the first interpolation edge correction operation value, an edge correction factor for edge correction, and an edge sharpness factor for distinctly representing an edge to enhance image quality in an edge area of a magnified image.

    Abstract: A seamless image processing apparatus and method, the apparatus includes a first storage unit, storing original image data, the original image data including lines arranged in a vertical direction and pixels arranged in each of the lines in a horizontal direction, and a signal processing unit receiving blocks, in which the original image data stored in the first storage unit is divided, based on a digital memory access and performing image processing on each of the blocks of each of the lines using main data and first and second overlap data so that no seams are generated at a boundary between adjacent blocks. Accordingly, image processing is performed on a current block using data resulting from image processing performed on the previous block and image data included in the next block. Thus, seams between adjacent blocks do not appear.
