Abstract: A card-receiving device for containing a card comprises a chassis, a tray and a stopper. The tray is disposed on the chassis and moveable between a first position and a second position, wherein the card is disposed on the tray, and moves from the first position to the second position by the tray. When the tray moves to the second position from the first position, the stopper abuts and stops the card.

Abstract: A method to determine the shape data of a complex curve surface using reference templates from a copy of the workpiece before it was used and the undamaged portion of the used workpiece so that the damaged portion of the workpiece can be reconstructed. The reference template is scanned in layers, including the portion corresponding to that which has been damaged in the workpiece, as well as adjacent undamaged portions of the used workpiece. Offsets of the reference template and workpiece are generated, based on corresponding portions of the reference template and the used workpiece. A new set of offsets of the damaged portion of the workpiece is then calculated. This calculated set of offsets is then used to calculate further profiles until a complete profile of the damaged portion has been predicted.

Abstract: A writing instrument has a barrel, a connector and a clip. The barrel has a front end, a rear end and a writing tip. The writing tip is mounted on the first end. The connector is mounted on the barrel. The clip attaches to the connector and has an inner surface, an outer surface, a proximal end, a distal end, a cavity, memory and an input and output (I/O) interface. The memory is mounted in the cavity and stores data. The I/O interface is connected electronically to the memory and protrudes from the distal end of the connector. A user can bring the writing instrument to write or store date in the memory. Therefore, storing date and writing is combined in a small volume in the writing instrument.

Abstract: A method performed by an image display system is provided. The method includes identifying a first arbitrary feature that is inherent in a first image frame and suitable for use as a first fiducial mark when the first image frame is displayed on a display surface by a display device and updating correspondence information between the display device and an image capture device using the first arbitrary feature in the first image frame and an image that is captured to include the first arbitrary feature on the display surface.

Abstract: A system for recording a real-time slide presentation to generate a low bit-rate multimedia data object including a plurality of synchronized overlayed replayable bitstreams including at least a bitstream corresponding to an image of each of a plurality of slides of the slide presentation, a bitstream corresponding to symbolic representations of presenter's interactions with points of interest within each slide, and a bitstream corresponding to a presenter's audio associated with each slide is described. The plurality of bitstreams can be linked so as to make the multimedia data object browsable on a presenter interaction event-by-event basis. Interaction events can be linked to the audio bitstream and/or to a video clip bitstream. Video clips can be recorded during the real-time presentation such that when replaying the multimedia data object, a video clip is synchronized and replayed dependent on presenter interaction events.

The IDS communicates with the device, and displays interactive representations of information stored on the device.

Abstract: An optical recording/reproducing apparatus and an OPC-performing method are provided for restudying drive characteristics of an optical source after performing OPC test recording and OPC measurement to ensure accurate optimum power control (OPC) for recording data on an optical disc, particularly, when the drive characteristics vary according to temperature changes of the optical source. The OPC-performing method comprises performing OPC recording as test recording for OPC and OPC measurement as measurement of an OPC recording state; performing a power analysis of drive characteristics of an optical source, and obtaining optical source drive characteristics after the OPC recording and the OPC measurement; and performing OPC calculation for determination of an optimum optical source drive level as an optical source drive level for enabling optimum beams of optimum recording power to be emitted from the optical source, based on the OPC recording state and the optical source drive characteristics obtained.

Meanwhile, the laser head with the focusing lens is located within the cap for preventing the laser head from undesired offset. Therefore, it s not necessary to adjust the focus of the laser head and the cap by use of a rapid engagement, thereby achieving a convenient use.
