  • Patent number: 5583823
Abstract: A DRAM refresh circuit includes control logic for selectively placing the DRAM in normal modes of operation. An X register stores and outputs the capacity value of a DRAM, and a timer receives the output value of a timer register and a timer clock, and counts a refresh operation time. A refresh counter receives the output of a refresh counter register and a refresh counter clock, and counts the refresh operations. A comparator compares the output signals of the refresh counter, timer, and X register, and outputs a refresh enable signal in response to these signals. A priority circuit receives the output signals of the control logic and comparator and generates signals corresponding to the normal modes of operation and the refresh mode. A memory control signal generator is also provided for generating RASI and CASI signals and the refresh counter clock in accordance with the output from priority circuit.

  • Patent number: 5573133
Abstract: A can structure for detachable coupling of at least two cans. The detachable coupling structure includes a plurality of grooves recessed on an outside surface of a bottom peripheral ring of each can such that each of them has a receiving portion and a locking portion. A plurality of projections extend inwardly from an inside surface of a top peripheral flange of each can at positions corresponding to the grooves. In accordance with the above structure, the two cans are detachably coupled to each other by inserting the projections of one can in the receiving portion of the corresponding grooves of the other can and turning the two cans in opposed directions. In a second embodiment of this invention, the projections are formed by partial inward bending of an edge of the top peripheral flange of each can at positions corresponding to the grooves. The detachable coupling of the cans can be repeated several times so as to form a line of cans without causing any problem.

  • Patent number: 5485217
Abstract: A line tripler for an NTSC/HDTV dual receiver includes a control signal generation section for generating write enable signals and read enable signals. A FIFO line memory section writes each line of an NTSC video signal three times at a predetermined write sampling rate in response to the write enable signals from the control signal generation section to triple each line. The memory section sequentially outputs the stored three lines of the NTSC video signal at a predetermined read sampling rate in response to the plurality of read enable signals from the control signal generation section. The increase in the number of samples of each line of the NTSC video signal is made possible by adjusting the sampling rate or clock signal frequency in reading the stored three lines of the NTSC video signal. A format of the NTSC signal can be converted into an HDTV format of 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio.

  • Patent number: 5349482
Abstract: A photoelectric sensor is utilized for optically detecting the presence of a tape cassette in a loading commencement position to produce an electrical driving signal. Responsive to the driving signal, an electric loading motor is activated to cause a loading arm to swing from one angular position to another angular position. Rotary movement of the loading motor is translated into a pivotal swinging movement of the loading arm by a segmented linkage lever. The linkage lever carries a light beam interrupter piece which may cut off the light beam projected by the photoelectric sensor to enable the latter to generate the electrical driving signal. The linkage lever also carries an arm locking finger adapted to lock the loading arm in a loading completion position.

  • Patent number: 4893691
Abstract: An automatic braking system for a vehicle having a multichambered brake unit includes a control unit movement of the vehicle or obstacles behind the vehicle. This control unit is interconnected with a three-directional electromagnetic valve for controlling pressures within the various chambers of the brake unit. The system can prevent unwanted rearward movement of a vehicle when it is has been stopped on a slope or flat surface and is restarted. Further, obstacles behind the vehicle can be sensed when the vehicle is in reverse and a warning may be provided to the driver. If the vehicle continues to approach the obstacles, the braking system can stop the movement of the vehicle before an accident can occur.

  • Patent number: 4501357
Abstract: A disk jacket is disclosed, the jacket having an outer envelope and an inner liner and being closed around three edges and opening outwardly along a top edge. A pair of outwardly curved elastic plates are secured between the outer envelope and the inner liner along opposite sides of the opening to cause the top edges of the opposed side walls of the jacket to be concave, whereby the mouth of the jacket is normally open. An interlocking latching mechanism is placed in the middle of the jacket opening to permit the jacket to be closed, and a covering, or lid, material is secured to the inner surface of the jacket liner along the upper edge thereof, the covering material being substantially the same thickness of a disk so as effectively to seal the opening of the jacket when it is secured in the closed position by the interlocking latch mechanism.
