  • Patent number: 10121638
Abstract: An atmospheric-pressure plasma jet generating device is disclosed, which comprises a housing, a discharge tube, an air inlet, and an outlet. The air inlet is connected to the outlet and the discharge tube. The discharge tube includes an internal electrode, a first dielectric material, and an external electrode. The first dielectric material is placed between the external electrode and the internal electrode, and there are some channels between internal electrode and first dielectric tube. An external power source is electrically connected to the internal electrode and the external electrode to generate a high electric field within the discharge tube. When the working gas flows through the discharge tube from the air inlet, the plasma is generated by the high electric field, and then flows out through the outlet. The present invention can generate non-thermal atmospheric-pressure plasma jet for biomedical processing.

  • Patent number: 9531029
Abstract: A planar solid oxide fuel cell stack which can expand in both the vertical and horizontal directions is disclosed. The planar solid oxide fuel cell stack comprises an interconnect which consists of an interconnect body, a first flowing area and a second flowing area, wherein the first and the second flowing area are disposed on opposite side of the interconnect body, and have one gas inlet and two gas outlets, respectively. By employing multiple hexagonal interconnects for cell stack expanding in the horizontal direction, each three stacks can share the same pipeline of the flow channel, thereby reaching the goals of reducing the space and materials required and system complexity as well.

  • Patent number: 9458796
Abstract: The present invention discloses a dual-vortical-flow hybrid rocket engine, including a main body and a nozzle communicating with an end of the main body. The main body includes a plurality of disk-like combustion chambers arranged longitudinally, and a central combustion chamber formed along the axial portion and communicating the disk-like combustion chambers. Each of the disk-like combustion chambers is provided with a plurality of oxidizer injection nozzles at its inner circumference surface. Inside the disk-like combustion chambers, the oxidizer is injected in nearly the tangent directions of the circumference, and the injection directions are opposite for the neighboring disk-like combustion chambers, which creates vortical flows with opposite rotating directions so as to increase the total residence time of the combustion reactions of the oxidizer and the solid-state fuel in the disk-like combustion chambers of the present invention.
