  • Publication number: 20070026005
Abstract: Disclosed is a vaccine composition including a pathogenic antigen and IL-12 encapsulated in controlled release microspheres. Also, the present invention discloses a method of enhancing the adjuvant effect of IL-12 by employing an IL-12 adjuvant encapsulated in controlled release microspheres. IL-12, used as an adjuvant for a co-administered vaccine antigen in the vaccine composition, is released in vivo for a prolonged period of time by being encapsulated in controlled release microspheres, thereby maximizing its adjuvant effect.

  • Publication number: 20060066217
Abstract: To avoid arcing and shorting within a field emission device, a bottom portion of a gate electrode is protected with an insulating material to avoid or reduce arcing among the electrodes and the electron emitters in the device. In a method for manufacturing such a field emission device, an emitter hole is formed through an insulating layer such that a portion of the gate electrode overhangs the hole and is protected on its underside by the insulating layer. The device can be used in display systems, such as CNT flat panel displays.

  • Publication number: 20060050204
Abstract: A LCD device (200) is disclosed that has a cholesteric compound layer (205), a backplane light (201), and one or more polarizers (203, 209) and liquid crystal smectic C* layers. The cholesteric compound layer (205) transmits elliptically polarized light having an amount of absorbance which is related to the angular rotation of the polarization. One or more of the liquid crystal smectic C* layers may be controlled as a polarization filter to select the apparent color of the transmitted light.

  • Publication number: 20050236963
Abstract: A cathode structure of a field emission device includes a gate electrode that is protected by a passivation layer. In one method for manufacturing such a field emission device, an emitter hole is formed through an insulating layer such that the passivation layer overhangs the gate layer, which overhangs an insulating layer. When used in a display system, the gate layer is exposed to an emitter electrode but shielded from an anode.
