Abstract: Disclosed is a method for determining an existence of a repeater using a portable Internet signal and for measuring a position of a mobile station using the same, the method receiving a portable Internet signal and a mobile communication signal from a base station, calculating distances between a mobile station and the base station according to the received portable Internet signal and the received mobile communication signal, and determining the existence of the repeater by comparing the calculated distances with each other.

Abstract: A positioning system using a mobile Internet signal is disclosed. The positioning system includes access points for transmitting downlink signals for mobile Internet communications, an access terminal for generating positioning information using the downlink signals received from the access points and access point information on the access points, and a position determination entity (PDE) for calculating range values between the access terminal and the access points using the positioning information from the access terminal and determining a position of the access terminal using the range values. Since the positioning system determines the position using the mobile Internet signal, an accurate terminal position can be determined even in such environments as downtown, shaded and indoor areas.

Abstract: A device for creating an electronic album using map data, including a storage device interface for providing interface to a storage device; a map database for storing the map data and Point of Interest (POI) information of specific locations in the map data; a controller for reading images of places visited from the storage device, determining location of each place visited using the POI information and the map data, and recording travel information on the images of places visited; and an image output unit for outputting the images with the travel information recorded thereon. An electronic album containing images of places visited can be created using the map data and the POI data in the car navigation system, which improves utilization of the car navigation system. At a later time, the electronic album may remind the user of the travel memories.
