Abstract: A display method and an apparatus to display a plurality of images on a screen, and an image forming apparatus to performs the N-up display method, wherein the image display method includes: classifying the images according to the similarities in their shapes on the basis of horizontal length information and vertical length information of the images; and displaying the images on the display screen such that images having similar shapes are positioned adjacent to each other. Therefore, by positioning images having similar, or corresponding, shapes at adjacent positions when images to be printed are displayed on a display unit, such as a liquid crystal display (LCD) included in the image forming apparatus, a reduction of blank spaces between displayed images and an increase of the number of images that can be displayed on a screen are promoted.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprising a function for adjusting a color of an image and a printing method thereof are provided, in which an information reading unit extracts information corresponding to a lens of an imaging device from additional information corresponding to an image captured by the imaging device, an information saving unit saves data required for adjusting the color of the image according the information corresponding to the lens of the imaging device, and an image processing unit adjusts the color of the image according to the data. Accordingly, it is possible to print the printing image closer to a natural color by adjusting color differences according to different imaging devices and the color of the image according to the lens information of the imaging device.

Abstract: A printhead, a scanning type inkjet image forming apparatus having the same, and a method of performing a printing operation with a high resolution. Separate N nozzle units are disposed in the printhead such that images can be printed with higher resolution. In addition, the printing operation can be performed with an actual resolution or a higher resolution while a print medium is fed at a uniform speed such that the printing speed can be increased when the printing operation is performed with the higher resolution. In addition, when a portion of nozzles of a first nozzle unit is damaged or is malfunctioning, the portion of the nozzles is compensated for using a second nozzle unit such that an image quality is not affected by a defective nozzle.

The missing nozzle detection apparatus includes a nozzle classifying unit which groups the nozzles by classifying the nozzles according to a predetermined criterion, a print unit which prints each of the classified groups of nozzles, and a nozzle inspection unit which detects the missing nozzle by scanning the result printed by the print unit, wherein the nozzle classifying unit classifies the nozzles based on a scanning resolution of the nozzle inspection unit. A resolving power can be improved and the missing nozzle can be exactly detected using an existing scan sensor instead of a high performance scan sensor, and manufacturing costs can be reduced and printing quality can be improved.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for processing short messages in a wireless or wired terminal, such as a facsimile machine or MFP, by which reception result messages of short messages received via a network can be effectively transmitted to transmitting terminals via the network. When the short messages are received via a network, the terminal separates and stores reception result messages according to normal and erroneous reception thereof, and if the number of the stored reception result messages is greater than a preset number, automatically transmits the reception result messages to short message-transmitting terminals so as to provide convenience to users.

Abstract: Image data is printed by a printing apparatus by calculating the number of print lines of image data to be printed, determining a print speed of the image data according to the calculated number of print lines, and printing the image data at the print speed. When image data is to be printed, the image data is printed at a print speed which is determined using the previously calculated number of print lines. Thus, deterioration of image quality due to discontinuation of printing during printing can be prevented. Also, high speed printing using memory of limited storage capacity is possible.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for registering an external device to be permitted to perform a printing job and a method and an apparatus for permitting an external device to perform a printing job using the same are provided. The method of permitting an external device to perform a printing job includes receiving a printing order from the predetermined external device; deciding whether or not the predetermined external device has been registered as a printing permitted external device; and receiving images to be printed from the predetermined external device and executing printing of the images when the predetermined external device has been registered as a printing permitted external device.
