    Abstract: A display device and method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. In one aspect, the display device includes a substrate including a display area and a pad area, a semiconductor layer formed over the substrate, and an insulating layer formed over the semiconductor layer. The display device also includes a metal wire formed over the insulating layer in the display area and a pad electrode formed over the insulating layer in the pad area, wherein the pad electrode is electrically connected to the metal wire. The display device further includes a pattern formed between an edge of the substrate and an end portion of the pad electrode. The edge of the substrate is adjacent to the pad electrodes and the pattern is spaced apart from the end portion of the pad electrode.
