  • Publication number: 20040204865
Abstract: A method of removing abnormal data in a blood component analysis system using spectroscopy to estimate a concentration of a blood component by analyzing a photo-plethysmographic (PPG) signal obtained by radiating light of first and second wavelengths reacting to the blood component on a subject and detecting light corresponding to the first and second wavelengths output from the subject, includes collecting the PPG signal corresponding to the first and second wavelengths for a predetermined unit period of time, calculating “n” parameters, with respect to “n” pulse data included in the collected PPG signal, where n is a positive integer, calculating an average of the “n” parameters, and comparing a ratio of a number of parameters whose deviation from the average is greater than a predetermined standard deviation to the “n” parameters with a predetermined removal reference value to determine whether the “n” pulse data is valid.

  • Patent number: 6719702
Abstract: An apparatus and method for measuring blood pressure using linearly varying air pressure, including a compression unit; an air pump that injects air into the compression unit; a pressure sensor that senses and outputs the air pressure of the compression unit; an ADC that converts and outputs the result of the sensing as a pressure signal; a controller that calculates a current pressure value of the compression unit from the pressure signal and a linear pressure of the compression unit that is linearly dropped corresponding to the current pressure value and generates the first control signal in response to the current pressure value and a second control signal from the result of a comparison of the current pressure value and the linear pressure; a DAC that converts and outputs the second control signal as an exhaust control signal; and a proportional control valve that exhausts air from the compression unit.

  • Publication number: 20030236647
Abstract: A diagnosis method and apparatus for measuring blood hemoglobin concentration, oxygen saturation, pulse rate, respiration rate, or degree of aging of blood vessels using light includes an input/output unit for receiving a command for measurement from a user and for providing information on the result of a measurement to the user; a control unit for receiving the command for measurement from the input/output unit and for generating a control signal; a light generating unit for generating at least two light beams for measurement according to the control signal; a light receiving unit for receiving the light beams transmitted through an object that is subject to measurement and for converting the received light beams into electrical signals; and a data processing unit for processing the electrical signals received from the light receiving unit and for outputting information on the result of a predetermined measurement.

  • Patent number: 6421554
Abstract: A method and device for detecting a lead fault by analyzing a electrocardiogram signal from a telemetric or portable electrocardiogram system using software. In the device for detecting a lead fault, the electrocardiogram signal can be analyzed using software by a microcontroller without an extra microcontroller, so that the size of a telemetric or portable electrocardiogram system can be reduced while also reducing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 5096886
Abstract: A polypeptide having bactericidal activity, particularly against gram-negative bacteria, has been isolated from pig intestine. The porcine cecropin has the amino acid sequence: H.sub.2 N-Ser-Trp-Leu-Ser-Lys-Thr-Ala-Lys-Lys-Leu-Glu-Asn-Ser-AlaLys-Lys-Arg-Ile-S er-Glu-Gly-Ile-Ala-Ile-Ala-Ile-Gln-Gly-Gly-Pro-Arg-COOh. Pharmaceutical compositions containing such poypeptides, or functional derivatives thereof, are useful in therapeutic and prophylactic methods for inhibiting bacterial growth.
