A first door support frame (28a) is attached at a lower portion of the first door panel (14a). The first door support frame (28a) has a first finger (36a) that extends below the second door panel (14b) when the elevator door (12) is closed. A second door support frame (28b) is attached at a lower portion of the second door panel (14b). The second door support frame (28b) has a second finger (36b) that extends below the first door panel (14a) when the elevator door (12) is closed.
