According to the medical imaging apparatus and the method of controlling the same, over-injection of a contrast agent into the object may be prevented while a medical image is acquired, and an image may be obtained when the contrast agent is in an optimum state in consideration of various environmental factors. Accordingly, lesions and diseases may be more accurately determined and interpreted by using the medical image.
