Abstract: A double sliding-type portable communication apparatus, in which one housing slidably moves relative to the other housing through double-sliding motions, which includes a main housing extending in a longitudinal axis and a sliding housing moving in said longitudinal and also lateral directions across the main housing whose upper surface faces away from the main housing to allow the sliding housing may become displaced away from the main housing and also slidably return to overlap the main housing, wherein said housings are aligned parallel to each other in the longitudinal axis or a lateral direction across the main housing to expose predetermined regions of an upper surface of the main housing with keys provided thereon.

Abstract: A folder type portable terminal and a method for setting a key input unit thereof are disclosed. The folder type portable terminal includes a key input unit, a body, and a folder. The key input unit includes a first key set having a plurality of keys, each key being allocated a dial key to make a call and an alphabet key based on a QWERTY-type letter arrangement, a second key set having alphabet keys, a third key to perform a plurality of functions including making calls, and a fourth key set. The body is equipped with the key input unit. The folder is rotatably coupled to the body with respect to a hinge. At least a part of the key input unit protrudes from the body when the folder rotates with respect to the hinge to be opened with respect to the body.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a portable communication terminal for displaying information that is suitable for use as a personal digital album, and that includes a cover having a planar surface; a display device adapted to open/close via a sliding linear movement along a direction away from the cover, and a rotational movement toward the cover; a number of openings formed on the cover for providing the sliding and rotational movements of the display device and for exposing the information displayed on the display device; and at least one support arm placed on the lateral surface of the cover for supporting the sliding and rotational movements of the display device.

Abstract: Disclosed is a portable communication apparatus. The portable communication apparatus includes a first housing including a plurality of keys, a second housing including a main display unit and being movable from the first housing about a first hinge axis and being rotated about a second hinge axis, which is perpendicular to the first hinge axis, and a swing hinge housing for allowing the second housing to rotate with respect to the first housing about the first and second hinge axes, which pass through the swing hinge housing. The swing hinge housing is provided at a lateral portion thereof with a camera lens. A bottom surface of the swing hinge housing is rotatably attached to an upper surface of the first housing so that the swing hinge housing is rotated together with the main display unit about the second hinge axis.

Abstract: A portable terminal is disclosed having a first housing; a swing hinge module providing a rotation axis which extends perpendicularly to a top surface of the first housing; and a second housing coupled to the swing hinge module and adapted to be rotated about the rotation axis while facing the first housing. As the second housing is rotated about the rotation axis, the swing hinge module stops the rotation of the second housing at least once at a predetermined position. The second housing is rotated semi-automatically by means of the swing hinge module.
