  • Patent number: 8655505
Abstract: A worksite management system for use with a mobile machine is disclosed. The worksite management system may have a control module located onboard the mobile machine and configured to store a least one operational relationship, and an offboard controller located at a worksite of the mobile machine in communication with the control module. The offboard controller may be configured to generate an analysis of machine performance at the worksite. The offboard controller may be further configured to cause remote reconfiguration of the at least one operational relationship based on the analysis to positively affect performance of the mobile machine.

  • Patent number: 8463460
Abstract: A worksite management system for use with a mobile machine is disclosed. The worksite management system may have a control module located onboard the mobile machine and configured to control operations of the mobile machine, and a controller in communication with the control module. The controller may be configured to anticipate a non-failure machine performance irregularity, and determine an adjustment to an operation of the mobile machine that positively affects the machine performance irregularity. The controller may also be configured to cause implementation of the adjustment before the machine performance irregularity occurs.

  • Patent number: 7483808
Abstract: A method of measuring rolling resistance of a machine is disclosed. The method may include determining a drive axle torque value of the machine and calculating a total effective grade value using the drive axle torque value. The method may further include determining at least one drivetrain efficiency loss factor value and calculating a total drivetrain efficiency loss value of the machine using the at least one drivetrain efficiency loss factor value. The method may also include determining position data of the machine and calculating an actual grade value based on the position data. The method may additionally include calculating a rolling resistance value of the machine by subtracting the actual grade value and the drivetrain efficiency loss value from the total effective grade value and outputting the rolling resistance value.

  • Patent number: 3959968
Abstract: The invention is concerned with an improvement in a fluid controller for a power steering system which includes a housing having a fluid A for connection to the discharge side of a main fluid pump, an outlet for connection to the suction side of the main pump and a pair of ports for connection to the opposite sides of a dual acting hydraulic device such as a balanced cylinder of the power steering system for controlling the flow of pressurized fluid to the device. The controller includes a gear set which serves as a fluid meter or as a manual pump, depending upon the operativeness of the main fluid pump, and a spool valve shiftable axially to control the flow through the inlet, the gear set, the cylinder ports and the outlet. A control shaft is mounted for rotation on the housing responsive to movement of a steering wheel and is coupled to the spool valve for effecting axial shifting of the spool valve in response to rotation of the control shaft.
