  • Publication number: 20090313893
Abstract: A hollow elongated cylinder having a plurality of slots and holes through the side thereof is inserted into the soil of a potted plant. The cylinder is inserted adjacent to the plant stem and down into the soil so that it is proximate to the roots of the potted plant. Water and/or fertilizer poured into the hollow cylinder are introduced directly to the roots of the potted plant. The roots will naturally grow through the apertures in the cylinder to more directly access the fertilizer and/or water. The cylinder can be transferred with the plant and soil to a new pot as the plant grows, with additional cylinders inserted into the new soil.

  • Patent number: 6450106
Abstract: A portable display assembly is disclosed including an elongated, curved S-shaped frame having handles extending therefrom. A pair of wheels are operably disposed on an axle attached to a lower end of the frame, and two prongs extend from the lower end of the frame to cooperatively form a supportive base. A plurality of shelves are connected to the frame such that they are capable of being selectively swivelled from one position to another. A lamp extends from an upper end of the frame, and has a pivoting section to enable the lamp to be selectively directed over portions of the assembly. In one form, the frame includes a plurality of interconnecting modular tube segments connected to one another, the shelves are removably connected to the frame, and the lamp is removably attached to the upper end of the frame so that the assembly can be broken down for storage.

  • Patent number: 6386071
Abstract: A recoil reducing apparatus that is attachable to a striking tool includes a resilient strap having a first aperture which is configured to accept an extension of the striking tool, and a second aperture spaced from the first aperture along a major axis of the strap and configured to accept a striking portion of the striking tool. The strap also includes a flap which extends from the second aperture. The strap is generally planar and of a resilient elastomeric material, such as urethane rubber. When used with a hammer, an extension of the hammer, such as the claw, is inserted through the first aperture of the strap. The second aperture is pulled over the striking head of the hammer resulting in a tight fit with the hammer head.

  • Patent number: 5417307
Abstract: A multi purpose worktable can be used as a table base or as a replacement for a conventional sawhorse. The worktable is assembled and dissassembled without the use of tools into individual lightweight components which are easily stored and transported. When assembled, the worktable is sturdy and durable, and includes a pair of plastic endpieces, and several cross-members in the form of wooden boards. Opposed openings receive the ends of the wooden boards, and clamps to hold the boards in the openings.

  • Patent number: 5389023
Abstract: A body surfing board includes a flexible hull having a lower surface, an upper surface adapted to receive a swimmer, and a nose section defining a forward end of the hull. A tail section including a keel extends downwardly from the lower surface of the hull. A pair of fins extend downwardly from the hull along opposite lateral edges thereof. The fins are each pivotable along their respective attachment to the hull, inwardly and outwardly with respect to one another. A plurality of slits extend between the pair of fins for translating the force of a water wave into forward movement of the body surfing board. In one embodiment, a plurality of ribs fixed to the lower surface of the hull define the slits. In another embodiment, a plurality of ribs are positioned within the nose section of the hull to open and close the slits in response to movement of the fins. In still another embodiment, the slits are incorporated into a diaphragm member.

  • Patent number: 5318467
Abstract: A body board for wave surfing includes a shark-shaped semi-rigid board having a pair of depending pectoral fins. The underside of the board is concave, and the board has a cone-shaped nose section with an underside including a series of laterally inboard projecting slats which open and close in response to movement of the fins. A tail section stabilizes the board in the water and provides a seat for the surfer while waiting for or traveling to a wave. The fins each include a sleeve adapted to receive the surfer's hands.
