  • Publication number: 20260273183
Abstract: A medication infusion system includes a housing with an adapter interface to couple with a medication container (syringe or vial). A pressure source expels gas to deliver fluid to a patient, while a pressure sensor and control unit regulate infusion parameters. A reference chamber with additional sensors enables volume estimation using pressure-volume-temperature relationships. A medication transfer device includes interfaces to couple to the infusion pump and secure the vial, with piercing elements defining inlet and outlet channels. The device may include valves, a gas filter, and a bubble eliminator with a hydrophobic membrane. The system enables direct-from-vial medication delivery without intermediate containers.

  • Publication number: 20260273175
Abstract: An infusion device includes a medication container interface to couple with a first portion of a medication container. The medication container has a second portion having an orifice and a medication chamber that encapsulates fluid which is disposed between the first and second portions of the medication container. A pressure chamber is formed when the first portion of the medication container is interfaced with the medication container interface. A pressure source, when active, expels gas and/or fluid within the pressure chamber to apply a pressure to a surface of the medication container causing fluid within the medication chamber to be expelled out of the orifice. A pressure sensor measure pressures within the pressure chamber. A control unit in communication with the pressure source and the pressure sensor and sends signals to the pressure source to control infusion parameters based, at least in part on, the measured pressure.

A pressure source expels gas to deliver fluid to a patient, while a pressure sensor and control unit regulate infusion parameters. Some variations include a reference chamber with additional sensors for volume estimation using pressure-volume-temperature relationships. A medication transfer device for vials includes interfaces for the pump and vial, piercing elements with inlet and outlet channels, valves, a gas filter, and a bubble eliminator with a hydrophobic air-permeable membrane. The system enables direct-from-vial medication delivery without transfer to intermediate containers.

  • Publication number: 20260272782
Abstract: A medication transfer device for use with a medication container such as a vial includes a first interface, a second interface, and one or more piercing elements. The first interface can be on a first end have a shape and size to couple to an infusion pump. The second interface can be on a second end and have a shape and size to secure the vial. The one or more piercing elements can define both at least a portion of (i) an inlet channel in fluid communication with a pressure source generated by the infusion pump when the first interface is coupled to the infusion pump and (ii) an outlet channel in direct fluid communication with an infusion set delivering medication from the vial to a patient.
