  • Patent number: 11000039
Abstract: A method for controlling nematode includes treating a plant or soil with a composition comprising a grammicin compound of Formula 1 or an agriculturally acceptable salt thereof. The grammicin compound may be isolated from a Xylaria grammica strain so that it is harmless to a human body, does not cause any environmental contamination, and exhibits an excellent control activity against root knot nematodes. Thus, it can be advantageously used for developing an environment-friendly natural nematicide and production of a high value-added organic agricultural product.

  • Patent number: 10980242
Abstract: Xylaria grammica EL 000614 strain has a nematicidal activity against root knot nematode. A method for controlling root knot nematode includes treating a crop, a crop seed, or a field for cultivation with a nematicidal microorganism formulation. The method has very little possibility of having a problem related to environmental contamination, and exhibits a high mortality and activity of inhibiting egg hatching for sweet potato root knot nematode (M. incognita). It is expected that the strain can be very advantageously used as an innovative biological control agent which enables prevention of problems associated with environmental contamination.

  • Patent number: 10576183
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a cocoon-based, vascular patch and a method for manufacturing the same. The cocoon-based, vascular patch is manufactured by dividing a cocoon into two or more fragments in a predetermined form, the cocoon having a shell having a predetermined thickness. The cocoon-based vascular patch can be relatively simply manufactured in a more cost efficient manner than conventional vascular patches, and has excellent cell growth potential and biocompatibility.

  • Patent number: 10525165
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a cocoon-based, dental barrier membrane for guided bone regeneration and a method for manufacturing the same. The cocoon-based, dental barrier membrane is manufactured by dividing a cocoon into two or more fragments in a predetermined form, the cocoon having a shell having a first thickness. The dental barrier membrane is biocompatible, has excellent tensile strength and porosity, and promotes osteogenesis in a bone defect.

  • Publication number: 20170112966
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a cocoon-based artificial biomembrane and a method for manufacturing the same. A cocoon the shell of which has a first thickness is divided into two or more fragments in predetermined form. The cocoon fragments may be used as artificial biomembranes. They can be relatively simply manufactured in a more cost efficient manner than conventional artificial biomembranes and have excellent cell growth potential. Also contemplated are a cocoon-based artificial biomembrane having excellent tensile strength and elongation, and a method for manufacturing the same.

  • Patent number: 8500808
Abstract: Provided is an artificial eardrum using silk protein and a method of fabricating the same. The artificial eardrum is fabricated in the form of a silk membrane by desalinating and drying silk protein (or silk fibroin) or a silk protein complex solution obtained after removal of sericin from a silkworm cocoon or silk fiber. Thus, regeneration of an eardrum perforated due to disease or a sudden accident is stimulated, a boundary of the regenerated eardrum is clean and biocompatibility and transparency are increased. In addition, the artificial eardrum may be fabricated using the silk protein or silk protein complex solution obtained from a silkworm cocoon alone or mixed with collagen, alginic acid, PEG or pluronic 127.
