  • Patent number: 7345593
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for implementing a universal remote controller and method thereof, by which a multitude of electronic products can be controlled by one remote controller. In a system including an electronic product module storing each remote controller control information of at least one or more products to output the stored remote controller control information according to an external request signal and a remote controller module receiving remote controller control information from the electronic product module and controlling a specific product selected by a user using the received remote controller control information, the present invention receives the remote controller control information from the electronic product module to display a key arrangement plan of the product to be controlled by a user's selection based on the received control information and then outputs key information by selecting a key of the displayed key arrangement plan.

  • Patent number: 7337079
Abstract: An apparatus and method for high-resolution reflectometry that operates simultaneously in both the time and frequency domains, utilizing time-frequency signal analysis and a chirp signal multiplied by a Gaussian time envelope. The Gaussian envelope provides time localization, while the chirp allows one to excite the system under test with a swept sinewave covering a frequency band of interest. High resolution in detection of the reflected signal is provided by a time-frequency cross correlation function. The high-accuracy localization of faults in a wire/cable can be achieved by measurement of time delay offset obtained from the frequency offset of the reflected signal. The apparatus enables one to execute an automated diagnostic procedure of a wire/cable under test by control of peripheral devices.

  • Publication number: 20040201780
Abstract: An apparatus and method for performing a picture-in-picture (PIP) in a display device is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first video processor converting a first video signal into data representing a displayable main picture, a second video processor converting a second video signal into data representing a displayable sub-picture, and a microcomputer controlling the first video processor and the second video processor, so that at least one of the main picture data and the sub-picture data is partially outputted in accordance with a shape of the sub-picture.

  • Patent number: 6556248
Abstract: A HTML data transmitting/receiving apparatus selectively inserts an NTSC broadcasting signal and a HTML signal into a VHF or UHF broadcast channel and thus performing data transmitting and receiving process. The apparatus of the present invention inserts the HTML data signal in an image signal interval corresponding to a predetermined TV channel and transmits the HTML data signal in a caption region and a teletext region in a vertical blanking interval or in a caption region, a teletex region and an image signal interval therein.

  • Patent number: 6556255
Abstract: An apparatus for processing a remote controller signal and a method using the same, and in particular to an apparatus for setting and generating a melody for a remote controller input signal and a method using the same capable of generating a melody corresponding to a predetermined inputted key, whereby melodies for each key are set, the melody corresponding to the predetermined inputted key is generated, thus a viewer confirms the key is exactly inputted, and furthermore, the viewer sets the melody corresponding to the predetermined key, and the melody is generated when the key is inputted, and thus the viewer is not bored because of an operational delay of a specific function and can confirm a preferred key is inputted.

  • Patent number: 5990978
Abstract: A luminance/chrominance (Y/C) signal separating device utilizing motion estimation and compensation. According to the device, the image motion is detected in the unit of a 2.times.2 (sample.times.line) block to separate an NTSC television signal into the Y and C signals. As a result of the motion detection, a three-dimensional Y/C signal separation is performed with respect to a still image, while a three-dimensional Y/C signal separation with the motion estimation and compensation in the unit of the 2.times.2 (sample.times.line) block in a predetermined region of the previous frame is performed with respect to a moving image. A two-dimensional Y/C signal separation is performed with respect to the moving image whose motion is not compensated in the unit of a 2.times.1 (sample.times.line) block in the present frame.
