Abstract: An additional information processing apparatus and method selectively processes and stores additional information contained in a TV broadcast signal according to specifications set by a user, subdivides information of the type of additional information received in real time, and displays the information on a screen. Additional information contained in a broadcast signal is classified by type before transmission. Only additional information of the type(s) desired by a user is selected and acquired from the received additional information. The type(s) of additional information acquired is (are) displayed on a screen in real time. Accordingly, only the additional information needed by the user is selectively stored in memory and memory can be efficiently used. Since the type(s) of additional information received is (are) displayed on the screen in detail, the user can easily understand the type(s) of additional information being received currently so that the additional information can be effectively used.

Abstract: In an apparatus and method for processing a data broadcast signal, additional information contained in a TV broadcast signal can be easily selected and acquired without a time limit by using a still picture. Additional information corresponding to the still picture from additional information transmitted in real time with a moving picture broadcast program is processed, and the additional information is stored, together with still picture information matched with the additional information, so that an object of the additional information included in the moving picture or a picture swiftly changing can be accurately selected from the still picture without a time limit. As a result, additional information corresponding to the selected object is easily acquired. In addition, additional information can be easily searched using still pictures corresponding to additional information stored in a memory.

Abstract: A modular television for allowing a user to perceive an operation according to a selection of a module and/or a module function, is disclosed. The modular television includes a module rack having at least one module connection slot for mounting at least one module thereon, a main board for transmitting and receiving a multimedia signal to/from the module mounted in the module rack, mutually, and a distinguishable sound generator, when the module mounted on the module rack is selected, for providing a distinguishable acoustic signal corresponding the selection signal of the module.

Abstract: A home-style decoctor endowed with steamy boiling function includes a main body equipped with a heater; a heating vessel; a support plate for allowing a to-be-boiled object to be placed above the surface of the water stored in the heating vessel; a water supply for supplying water for boiling into the heating vessel so that the to-be-object is immersed; a steam collector for gathering stream produced when the to-be-boiled object is decocted with water; a condenser for condensing the steam collected into the steam collector; and a stream/condensed water guide for leading the steam present in the heating vessel to the steam collector and the condensed water placed in the steam collector to the heating vessel. With such construction, undried or white ginseng can become red ginseng extract by producing such useful components as several kinds of phenolic compounds and maltol, anti-oxidants, and ginsenosides Rg and Rh through steam-boiling, drying and re-boiling.

Abstract: An auto exposing arrangement is capable of controlling exposure time. A number of first pixels are identified, each of which outputs image data having a luminance value higher than a predetermined level. A number of second pixels are identified, each of which outputs image data having a luminance value lower than the predetermined level. Exposure time is controlled based on those identified numbers of pixels. A first counter receives image data from an image sensor for counting the number of the first pixels for a unit frame. A second counter receives image data from the image sensor for counting the number of the second pixels for the unit frame. A look up table stores an optimum exposure time for each luminance level. A brightness analyzer determines whether the screen is to be controlled to brighter or darker in response to the numbers of the pixels identified by the first and second counters, respectively, and selects the luminance level of the screen to output as an address of the look up table.

Abstract: A double boiler for domestic use includes a heating vessel for receiving water and a filtering device containing food, the vessel having a lid on the top; a main case having a reception hollow and a heater at one side so that the heating vessel is mounted and heated; a steam condenser incorporated in the top end of the main case so that steam produced from the heating vessel is collected; steam cooling device for circulating cooling water along the inner and outer circumferential surfaces of the steam condenser so that the steam collected in the steam condenser becomes cooled; and a condensed water collecting device for receiving the heating vessel to the hollow of the main case and at the same time connecting the heating vessel and steam condenser so that the condensed water condensed in the steam condenser is gathered into the heating vessel.
