    Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for transmitting control information and data in a DFT based communication system. The method includes placing a reference signal onto a first symbol among a plurality of symbols in one slot; placing a HARQ-ACK onto a second symbol first placed after the first symbol in the one slot; placing the data onto other symbols except for the first symbol; and transmitting a signal including the reference signal, the HARQ-ACK and the data. A part of CQI information is further placed onto at least one symbol, except for the first symbol, in case that the CQI information is present for transmission in the one slot.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for determining a resource for an acknowledgement signal in a wireless communication system. A transceiver of a user equipment (UE) receives a parameter associated with one or more resource blocks (RBs) for periodic transmission of a channel quality indication (CQI) signal in an operating bandwidth. A controller of the UE determines an RB for transmission of the acknowledgement signal, based on the parameter. The transceiver transmits the acknowledgement signal on the determined RB. The RB for the transmission of the acknowledgement signal is not more outer than the one or more RBs for periodic transmission of the CQI signal in the operating bandwidth.

The HARQ-ACK is placed onto a position of at least part of the data. The symbols are SC-FDMA symbols, the one middle symbol is a 4th symbol, the two symbols are a 3rd symbol and a 5th symbol.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a technique for radio link monitoring in a wireless communication system, and to operation procedures of the base station and user equipment and a method for radio link quality evaluation on the basis of the technique. In the method, the user equipment divides the downlink channel bandwidth into multiple frequency ranges, measures channel states for each frequency range, and evaluates the radio link quality based on channel state measurement results. Thereafter, the user equipment sends frequency range quality information to the base station, which may then utilize the same for downlink resource allocation. Hence, it is possible to solve the problem of the existing scheme wherein the user equipment enters the physical layer problem detection state or the radio link failure state although a frequency range usable for service provisioning is present within the downlink channel bandwidth.
