Abstract: A plasma display device including a plasma display panel, a chassis base having a first surface adjacent to which the plasma display panel is attached, a boss mounted in the chassis base, and a printed circuit board assembly that is supported by the boss and disposed adjacent to a second surface of the chassis base opposite to the first surface, wherein the boss includes a pressing groove, a portion of the chassis base is fitted into the pressing groove by pressing the boss and the chassis base together, and a front inner surface of the pressing groove has a slope, so as not to be parallel with a centerline of the boss.

Abstract: A heat dissipation apparatus for use with a plasma display device and a method of conducting the heat generated in the plasma display panel and the driving ICs of the plasma display device to various surfaces of the device for dissipation to air. A first heat sink is disposed between the plasma display panel and the chassis base. The first heat sink is positioned at a first region where the heat generated from the driver ICs is substantially concentrated. A second heat sink is positioned at a second region between the plasma display panel and the chassis base where the heat generated by the plasma display panel is substantially concentrated. A number of additional thermal conduction media are also used in the various embodiments of the invention.

A thermally conductive medium in liquid-phase or gel-phase is placed between the driver integrated circuit and the chassis base. A pressing plate is placed on the outside of the driver integrated circuit opposite to the chassis base, the pressing plate pressing the driver integrated circuit toward the chassis base for good contact and heat dissipation.
