  • Publication number: 20200405402
Abstract: A surgical system that includes a surgical instrument, a display device, and a controller. The surgical instrument is configured for insertion at least partially into an internal body cavity of a patient, the surgical instrument having an adjustable setting. The controller is in communication with the surgical instrument and the display device. The controller includes a memory storing the adjustable setting of the surgical instrument and a processor. The processor reads from memory the adjustable setting of the surgical instrument and generates a virtual button corresponding to the adjustable setting of the surgical instrument. The generated virtual button is displayed and selectable by a user to implement a corresponding setting on the surgical instrument.

  • Publication number: 20200405633
Abstract: A method of treating a gynecological malignancy includes introducing an implant within a uterus of a patient and positioning the implant adjacent to an endometrium of the uterus to enable a bioactive agent supported on the implant to treat the gynecological malignancy. The implant may be one or more deployable implants including a balloon, an IUD, a stent, or combinations thereof. Such implants may be introduced by one or more surgical instruments.

  • Publication number: 20200368406
Abstract: A peristaltic pump includes a first motor shaft, a second motor shaft, a first pump head, a second pump head, and a motor. The first pump head is operably coupled to the first motor shaft such that the first pump head is rotated in response to rotation of the first motor shaft. The second pump head is operably coupled to the second motor shaft such that the second pump head is rotated in response to rotation of the second motor shaft. The motor is configured to rotate the first and second motor shafts. The pump head has a first mode in which the first pump head is rotated and the second pump head is idle and a second mode in which the first pump head is idle and the second pump head is rotated.

  • Publication number: 20200337729
Abstract: A uterine manipulator includes a body defining proximal and distal end portions, a handle operably coupled to the proximal end portion, an end effector assembly operably coupled and configured to articulate relative to the distal end portion, and a force sensor configured to measure a force indicative of a torque required to articulate the end effector assembly relative to the distal end portion of the body. A method of transcervically determining uterine mobility includes transcervically positioning a surgical instrument such that an end effector assembly of the surgical instrument extends into a uterus, articulating the end effector assembly relative to a body of the surgical instrument to thereby move the uterus, and measuring a force indicative of a torque required to move the uterus.

  • Publication number: 20200289799
Abstract: An infusion catheter includes a housing, a proximal shaft assembly, a first distal shaft assembly and a second distal shaft assembly. The housing has one or more inflation ports and one or more infusion ports. The proximal shaft assembly supports a first balloon. The first distal shaft assembly extends distally from the proximal shaft assembly and supports a first distal balloon. The second distal shaft assembly extends distally from the proximal shaft assembly and supports a second distal balloon. The first and second distal shaft assemblies define infusion openings in fluid communication with the one or more infusion ports. The infusion catheter may be inserted into a uterine cavity to occlude tubal ostia and an internal cervical OS of the uterine cavity for sealing the uterine cavity. A therapeutic agent may be delivered through the infusion catheter and into the sealed uterine cavity to treat the uterine cavity.

  • Publication number: 20200121496
Abstract: A surgical system includes a fluid source including a fluid inflow tube, a fluid delivery device coupled to the fluid inflow tube and configured to deliver fluid from the fluid source into a patient, a surgical instrument, and a control box coupled to the surgical instrument. The control box includes one or more waste heat-generating electronic components and a heat pipe assembly disposed in thermal communication with the one or more waste heat-generating electronic components. The fluid inflow tube is disposed in thermal communication with the heat pipe assembly of the control box such that the heat pipe assembly conducts heat away from the one or more waste heat-generating electronic components and heats fluid flowing through the fluid inflow tube.
